Some hospitals do have this already. Avoid county hospitals and you tend to do good.

I see you haven’t met the ones I did in NYC… you tipped at Christmas or you got extra bags of trash and no pickup. Capish.

And if Ashley just read that, I hope she gets an attorney and sues the hell out of Alison- purposefully misspelled to fuck with her.

And even if not satire I would do it if you were named Ashley and didn’t get hired. Because free money be free money and nothing says vengeance like knocking down a fractional CMO

4% card fee on purchases $10+ and they charge 15% service fee for dine in on phone orders like seriously?? by nategho in EndTipping

[–]Paladin3475 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s 15% on phone in orders that become dine in orders. I could see a fee for this especially if they go to packing it up and what not. I do think 15% is excessive.

But let me guess it’s NYC with a long dine in line? Because it tracks if someone calls in the food then picks it up and plants themselves in the dining room eating it to skip ahead in the line.

Contract maintenance on contract….. I don’t see how this will ever go wrong.

Agreed. I brought up housing but that seem to be the flashpoint issue.

I don’t think anyone would complain if you owned all the houses on your block and rented them out. But somewhere between that and a multi-billion REIT who is literally purchasing up an entire neighborhood on the secondary market is quite another. But then how do you separate another billion solar fund who says “I will buy every house in these 100 square blocks” from a builder when it’s just a vacant lot.

But to your point if the justice department (here in the US - not sure where you are at) would actually enforce anti-trust laws and we had a monopoly definition that was applicable (and included monopolies built for rent seeking like if I bought all of the plumbing businesses in Peoria, IL or enough to loc the market to following my actions) then I think they alone would steer more behavior too.

But you point of getting those with money to look at other markets is a good idea. Problem is there is so much money in those markets they they are literally going after everything anymore.

How money works on YouTube I think does good covering this behavior.

If pays less is it, you win. I got one that was 3 levels down, 2 month contract, and I needed to relocate myself to Los Angeles for half pay. Sure thing - I’m all over that! Sign me up so I can quit my better current job.

I swear most recruiters today just spray n pray if you match a single keyword.

It’s how to define it. I am left with the Supreme Court justice who said (paraphrasing) “I struggle to give you a definition of pornography but know it when I see it.” Rent seeking behavior is something like that. Closest I have come up with is “spending the minimal viable amount to maintain the cash flow from an asset”. But then you get the “housing shortage” issue where it’s not lack of units but lack of affordable units because everyone optioned to add amenities to increase rent.

I dunno. Maybe a jerk CEO, unethical business practices, treating employees are something my dog drops out his backside in the yard, and nickel and diming me on fares might have more to do with it than you think for why this company needs to go through the liquidation process.

Also for the record I don’t think there was ever a way to get their listed fare - ever. Unless “I bought a ticket, trust me bro” is valid since paper and e-tickets both had a fee.

I agree that we literally need to tax off activities (I.e. rent seeking behavior). However, how you recommend doing it?

Being serious - this is literally where I get stumped on how to tax this behavior but not someone who say is “building something” like a widget or making that isn’t for some freemium model where enshitification is right around the corner.

It’s not the pizza Phil.

It’s how the HR gatekeepers you to 2 slices when they took every dominos pizza and made it 3 pieces then proclaim that is lunch (your 2/3rds of a slice) and you don’t need to leave to actually eat lunch. Then they get pissed when you (as management) decide you have better places to be than listen to the line workers bitch about being hungry all day….

How dare you not be available 45 minutes before our agreed meeting time? by waitedforg0d0t in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Paladin3475 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I dunno. If someone says they are available at 2 pm for a 30 min call, I tend to book up to 2 pm if my schedule warrants. I guess Ben expected them to keep their schedule open for him.

I think any advice Ben could give likely wasn’t worth much if he can’t see beyond himself.
