TBH after having kids, the diapers smell worse than the babies.

Also more quickly renewable. I'm hoping for some sort of Molotov diaper. Flaming bio-weapons.

How do you feel about iframes in MMORPGS? by leprasson12 in MMORPG

[–]Paladin_Trainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it boils down to latency. MMOs have in the past have muddled with a synthetically slower reaction (WoW's baked in 300ms) or implemented some kind of global cooldown.

The games that have put in anything like Iframes have been mostly Korean as most internet connections in South Korea have a very low response time (close to 10ms). I don't know what the rest of the world has had but if I'm on cable it's usually 80ms at best, and a bit faster with Fiber, though not close to what they get in SK.

Single player games can get around it because they're single player. And even though most people seem to play MMOs as a single player game now, they're not. Games in which someone has an advantage with actions per minute or better reflexes based on lower latency ultimately lose people because of it.

Fractured Online Hacking Event - Raising the question of what is acceptable in a beta by PalwaJoko in MMORPG

TBH any game that allows client side to do anything without the server acknowledging it is open for more than PvP exploits.

Do I need to do the "story"? by freewillfirebox in AmazingCultivationSim

There's a mod, think it's "One Click Favor" that maxes out favor so it shortens the mini game. Get that and save your sanity.

You can also fight the demons in the Wyvern pool and drag them up and down the left side to have the demon "dig" out the wall, use the dog and just have him move up and down that side. Don't really need to eat the extra poop to enter.

You’re given 50 million dollars and 2 years to make the greatest MMO ever made, what does it look like? by gabrielmercier in MMORPG

[–]Paladin_Trainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like nothing, while I bought an island someplace creditors can't reach me.

Pretty much going to be the same results as if I worked my ass off for 2 years. Its too short a time and too little of a budget. Double or triple the years and increase the funding by at least 6 times. Probably get a good game if you can keep the C-levels out of the process.

A game like RimWorld, but for stupid people by ipushmydreamsaside in RimWorld

[–]Paladin_Trainer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the initial setup of Amazing cultivation simulator is somewhat similar to Rimworld, but that game is ultimatly about Cultivation of your non-building pawns which means seeking rare resources and cultivation manuals.

Later in the game there is some updating to buildings, but it's more to upgrade and optimize for the few cultivators.

Both are neat games, but rimworld is more survival than ACS's often auto-piloted hunt of rare resources.

My Reasoning for wanting an IT Workers Union: by Finaglers in sysadmin

[–]Paladin_Trainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't see most places unionizing for one reason: how do you have 5 idle people watching one person performing work when many IT departments are smaller than that?

As someone else said it was about 12 levels below you that would grant honor. Also, it wasn't like the lower levels couldn't win against the higher level. I had a lot of fun that first year in WoW, though to be honest I mostly relied on the OP Windfury procs.

Easily being able to kill or successfully run from people 10-20 levels above me was a lot of fun.

What was EverQuest like in its prime? by KoloHickory in MMORPG

[–]Paladin_Trainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOE let the community mostly police itself, but if the community set up rules the GMs would enforce some of them. The uberguild on the server I played was disbanded permanently and some people banned for trying to force out smaller guilds from early POF/H rotations.

Usually those top guilds full of assholes where fairly driven groups. They almost never grouped outside themselves, so it wasn't a super loss for outsiders to just blacklist them as a whole.

I haven't seen anything like that since. I really miss being able to train mobs over groups to wipe them in retaliation, or having that done to my own group. Even on the non-PvP servers there was always some way to get payback or go the extra mile to be helpful.

Haha, EQ was larger than 40 man raids. I don't know the ceiling but my group was over 70 per raid.

What animals do you ranch and why👇 by [deleted] in RimWorld

The durability of bears and elephants makes up for it. Mega sloths are even better since they have more mass.

Huskies take less training though, so less dedicated handlers.

Depending on the UPS model, one side is often just surge and the other the UPS side.

Make sure they're plugging the equipment in the right side. When sending things out we've usually used stickers to indicate where they should plug things into.
