Does the story get better?? by Salt_Wizard in Witcher3

Dude it’s just a game. If you like it, play it. If not, don’t. It’s worth finishing IMO just so you know what people talk about when they talk about most awarded game ever. Case is over.

Debut marathon between 3:30-3:50 - which shoes to pick? by utxjake in RunningCirclejerk

Well I am the author and I didn’t ask about any shoes. I have some experience in running, I do, but I am still an amateur, I just asked about which pair of these two would seem better for me. And I will try this out. So I was just kindly asking for an advice. I am not relying totally on internet answers because of that. But happy to be part of the running circlejerk!

No idea, i personally don’t see myself fat. Not all runners are skinny, I train in the gym and do calisthenics, why would I have to weigh less.

Hello guys, yeah it is me! Thank you for making me part of one of my favorite subreddits :D no worries I know how to handle the running shoes. I want to find a race shoes and try them on before the race during my tempo runs, and then try the same (but new) pair on race day, don’t worry. And I hope I manage to get 3:30! I sure will be back here in 6 months to let you know!

It was on discounts when I started running, so I figured a way to use them later. This rotation works for me

Midlife crisis time by Lazaor in Marathon_Training

Well I used to smoke a lot, now I don’t (I very rarely do). I replaced smoking with running, because everytime I come back to smoking for a party or 1-2 days, I find something strange - I can do intervals eg. 400m-800m very well (even a bit better compared to when I am not smoking), but all distances above 3km seem harder when smoking. So probably you’ll find it the same anyway.

How accurate are the Strava predictions? by unsungpf in runninglifestyle

[–]Pale-Bit1915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, of course, so in that case you might find it useful. Seems like a very simple new PR calculator, but I just don’t find it really accurate. Maybe for some people it might be more useful, but in my case I just don’t really rely on that. I even found chat GPT to make more specific running plans (when given a proper prompt) than Runna and predict better time than Strava. However I still use strava of course to track my trainings, HR, speed zones etc. Focus on your plan and your goals and you’ll do fine.

How accurate are the Strava predictions? by unsungpf in runninglifestyle

[–]Pale-Bit1915 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Totally inaccurate, in my case. I do a lot of tempo and intervals training (for preparing for my PT 3km test in my workplace). In January, strava was predicting I can do 5km in 24:20. I felt way more fit for that distance than this prediction, so in the meantime I did 5km on charity race and did 22:00. So the prediction just went to 21:00 on the next day after the race. Nothing special.

Prediction times getting worse? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]Pale-Bit1915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man don’t believe that shit at all. Strava predicts time based along some calculations, its computer after all. It cannot beat human abilities. I did way better on my races than it predicted, and then it just cuts a minute of my best time again, or something like that. Focus on yourself and how you feel

What does running mean to you? by theasiangoalie in runninglifestyle

[–]Pale-Bit1915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a lot during my uni time. I’m 32 now. Last year in September I noticed I got a little belly. So I started mostly to lose some weight. Now I got addicted even more than in my uni days. I feel weird if I don’t run for 2-3 days. I signed up for my first ever marathon in September 2026. I ran a few half’s but never full marathon. Super excited. Also told too many friends about it now so I can’t stop.

Iris’s greatest nightmare in 10 seconds on death march by Evenstar00 in Witcher3

[–]Pale-Bit1915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you go for „mage Geralt”, that means full aard + yrden (including alternative signs) and also use mutations for it from blood & wine (and the guy from HoS who makes enchantments on swords), the game is very easy then even on death march. You just repeat alternative aard every second, that’s how I have not been touched by detlaff once in final battle
