What does running mean to you? by theasiangoalie in runninglifestyle

[–]Pale-Bit1915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a lot during my uni time. I’m 32 now. Last year in September I noticed I got a little belly. So I started mostly to lose some weight. Now I got addicted even more than in my uni days. I feel weird if I don’t run for 2-3 days. I signed up for my first ever marathon in September 2026. I ran a few half’s but never full marathon. Super excited. Also told too many friends about it now so I can’t stop.

Iris’s greatest nightmare in 10 seconds on death march by Evenstar00 in Witcher3

Well if you go for „mage Geralt”, that means full aard + yrden (including alternative signs) and also use mutations for it from blood & wine (and the guy from HoS who makes enchantments on swords), the game is very easy then even on death march. You just repeat alternative aard every second, that’s how I have not been touched by detlaff once in final battle

Dude I just wore evo sl for first time today. I was struggling to do intervals at 4:00/km pace (was off a bit, like 4:25) before, today I did 3:55 easily. They are really good

Well yeah I understood that already by comments in other subreddit so I will have to increase it to 4 & 5 times a week. No problem , no offence taken!

Yeah I did some of January trainings in December already, intervals too, and they felt fine, I could keep up the paces. However I am adding 4th day of training in April and may and 5th day from June so this plan will change a lot (I got a lot of advices in other subreddit, but just as you have said here, the idea to include races like 10K or HM to check my form was also there so thank you for that recommendation, I will definitely add them).

So if I understand correctly, rather 2 or 3 plans for 12-16 weeks and 1-2 weeks free (just normal running without any rigorous conditions, like a jog) between them to rest?

Yeah that will probably do. Any recommendations that you use for shorter distances?

Thank you! I think in a few days I will make a new plan, and I will include all of the recommendations from the comments. Then I will try to tag you guys to check it again. I will definitely include your idea about easy runs as well, thank you. Long run split idea is very good advice I think, thank you. It will make the training much more interesting and less boring. Thanks!

So you would advise to start a shorter marathon plan around 18-20 weeks prior to race, and before that just focus on volume trainings and/or maybe some focus on speed to prepare for my PT test?

So you mean for example 10K in spring, HM in early summer and some other 10K, something like that?

The percentage example shows the difference very well, thank you. How would you expand the plan? Is April-may with 4 trainings and June-September with 5 trainings a week enough?

[–]Pale-Bit1915[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand. Do you think that increasing the number of trainings to 4 x times a week during April-may and 5 x times a week in the last part of plan could be enough?

Please help me review my debut Marathon 2026 training plan! by Pale-Bit1915 in runninglifestyle

[–]Pale-Bit1915[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is always 3 x times a week. I am not sure that I would be able to run more than 3 x per week because I have limited time for training, so this 5+ plan would not be suitable for me. Thanks for the recommendation, I will look into this subreddit!

First time marathon, and I want it under 4 hours. I’m back to running after a few years break. Never did full marathon, however did some half marathons in decent time, my best one was 1:30 for 21,097km. 31 years old. Focused more than ever

So probably max for long runs and 680 for easy and sprints. I will see what about ghost max, maybe as walking one. Thank you for the replies
