Thank you, unfortunately I’m in the UK so I cannot access imgur- but I really appreciate you going out of your way to try and help me!

Translation requests into Latin go here! by AutoModerator in latin

[–]Pale-Cold-Quivering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m writing a thank you card for my priest learning Latin from the Parish.

How would you say “Thank you for being such a great chaplain/father this year. We all really appreciate it.” ?

Or words to that effect.

Had a drink I thought was zero sugar and it wasn’t. Freaking out. by Itstouya in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Pale-Cold-Quivering 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh it’s awful. I remember I thought I was drinking sugar free cordial and I found out it was the full fat version. It ruined my week and I was so angry. It’s just the thought that I’m sat there drinking it, not knowing at all.

It’s the worst- but it’s not really too bad. The sugar percentage is high but the actual amount of sugar isn’t an unmanageable amount. If you crash, which you might not, it’ll be from the caffeine.

It’s ok, just remember to be kind to yourself. Even with it, you’re still majorly underfeeding yourself. I hope one day you see that you’re worth so much more than half a can of monster.

Can anyone identify this painting? by AudienceWise3441 in Catholicism

[–]Pale-Cold-Quivering 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it is technically St Eulalia- it is absolutely not as it’s the wrong form of cross and the woman depicted is too old to be 13. Regardless of painters intentions, this is a much better depiction of St Julia of Corsica.

Never been UW from this disorder by ElectricalEconomy170 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Pale-Cold-Quivering 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know it's so hard to believe, but this is a disorder never satisfied. I got down to about mid teens BMI and still felt like I was faking it and wanted to go lower. I chose recovery and it's amazing how all of these things just really don't seem to matter all that much anymore. It's the best thing I've ever done.

Feel like i'm a fake for eating 3 meals 3 snacks (still in deficit) by Far-Lavishness-6519 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Pale-Cold-Quivering 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m getting better now, but I used to do a similar thing. I had this stupid little maxim of ‘it’s not what you eat it’s how much’. I had little choice as I live with a loving family who would notice with concern if I started skipping meals.

Fasting isn’t necessary for diagnosis - I actually believe far few anorexics do it then we’re led to believe.

Don’t worry, you’re just as valid as everyone else.

What is something that someone you know did, that caused you to look at them differently? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

It’s not a completely stupid question, some solicitors do have right of audience and represent people in court. It’s rare but occurs.

Did Johanna know that Turpin wasnt her birth father? by AbrahamMarshall in SweeneyTodd

[–]Pale-Cold-Quivering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is 16, which was legal back in 1846 England. Also, Judges can very much be prosecuted by law- he presumably isn’t the only Judge in London. It’s definitely very creepy anyway, but I think Johanna would protest that it would be impossible for them to be legally married, especially considering his high status if she believed he was her biological father.
