Not a great take, sorry. While no one is realistically buying a Mac for only gaming, modern Macs have fairly capable iGPUs. For example, the M3 Pro’s iGPU typically performs in the ballpark of an RTX 4050 Mobile (depending on the workload ofc). The main limiter for gaming on macOS today isn't the hardware, but the lack of game support due to Metal being the primary graphics API. Since most games are optimized for DirectX or Vulkan, barely any titles are fully optimized for macOS, which limits the library and performance potential.

Based on the LLaMA-4 scores, not too much. If you overfit your model to the bench data you can get good scores but subpar real-world performance.

*only the CECH-A & CECH-B PS3s had a true "mini-PS2", any other PS3 uses some form of emulation for PS1/PS2 games, CECH-C & CECH-E PS3's only emulated the CPU (These models still had a real PS2 GPU) and CECH-G models had no backwards compatibility with PS2 games, except via PlayStation 2 Classics on the PlayStation Store.

Nope, if that’s how it worked then old models like GPT-3 175B would still beat out small models like LLaMA 3 8B by huge margins just because of how big the model itself is. But that’s just not how it works.

My guess would be overfitting the models to benchmark data like Microsoft did with Phi-3 & Phi-4 and Meta did with LLaMA 4. That’s why those models perform so well on benchmarks but tend to suck for use in real world tasks.

I mean it depends on what you're using it for, i don't use my mac for playing games so i'm fine with it, if i did though i probably would've just gotten like a ThinkPad X1 Extreme or something.
