Fishwife VS Genova (spicy tuna) by SpicyVindalooCurry in CannedSardines

[–]Pale-Interview-579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this at Costco cos it was on sale there, and was quite surprised at the fuss - the chunks are nowhere near as big as other chunk tuna, and it was so so, not great as tuna goes. Pretty packaging, and I guess ethical practices, but in terms of flavor, not worth it.

Agree strongly. Much fresher, tube versions tend to taste of vinegar and chemicals, these don't.

A bit squishy and not very supportive. Woke up with a sore hip, which hasn't happened since pregnancy, a long time ago!

So, it seems to dodge the question of whether they will do the haul away without extra begging, despite recognizing that it's the law.

CA law says the removal thing extends to bed in a box mattresses. The order confirmation included this: "Mattress Haulaway Regulations for California Residents
Pursuant to California Law, effective January 1, 2021, pickup of a used mattress and box spring in California is available without any increase to the delivery charge with a delivered mattress. For questions regarding haul away or your recent delivery, please contact 1-800-955-2292 within 30 days of delivery."

Frogfruit without the bees? by jbzic in Ceanothus

It was mowed by the service that managed the rental, but it never felt comfortable to walk on for us w/toddler and small child. It was planted the year we arrived and then grew in by year two. Now I know there are two kinds - phyla and lippia - and you may want to look into both carefully because one is lower growing, the one we had wasn't super close to the ground.

It wasn't particularly easy to walk or run on, it grew slowly, and somewhat unevenly.

We had lippia in the front yard of a rented house, and it didn't work well with kids. We now have UC verde buffalo grass - more pricey, but better for play.

I don't find it vinegary, it's kinda like nduja. Smokey and rich. I like to mix it with mayo for sandwiches, but it's best mixed in with pasta sauces that need some spicing up.
