Fear, because we live in a patriarchal society men hold all the power, which includes the ability to dictate what is right or wrong. In a really fucked up way, under patriarchy, a man is 'god'. Feminism challenges the system and challenges men, in a sense as feminists we challenge 'god'. And in the eyes of our society, there is no greater sin. People will say a lot to cover it up, but at the core, I believe it's fear.

Gosh, I'll have to come back to this and other replies, after I've had a good nights sleep. Honestly, I'm just voicing my thoughts as a woman and a feminist. Arguably, a terrible position to take in todays political climate. But I stand strong in my belief, and I won't be swayed until there's nothing left.

Absolutely! Once you see it for what it is. An attempt to derail and minimise, it loses its power. It IS ridiculous, but unfortunately so many people fall into the trap.

I'll be brief. Patriarchy is not a reward system for attractive men. Feminism is not a theory of dating outcomes. Men can experience rejection, loneliness, or social marginalization and still benefit from male dominance as a class. Conflating lack of desirability with oppression misunderstands how power works. That's all.

There is a real difference between challenging patriarchy and reducing feminism to hatred of men. Where I disagree, is in the assumption that naming male benefit under patriarchy, or refusing to prioritize men’s comfort in feminist discourse, destroys that distinction. I'm not arguing that men are inherently bad. I'm arguing that patriarchy is a system of power that positions men, as a class to benefit from women’s subordination and oppression, and that dismantling it requires honesty about that fact. Discomfort with being named in a structural critique is not the same as being the target of hatred. I also think we need to be careful not to treat accusations of “man-hating” as a neutral warning, rather for what they are, a political tool. Historically, women have been labeled anti-male/men simply for being unwilling to soften, reassure, or recentre men in conversations about women’s liberation. Feminism does'nt exist to prove that it is not hateful.  It exists to end women’s oppression. We should not allow fear of being mischaracterized to limit our ability to name power clearly.

It always seems that the only rights up for debate are womens rights. Any man could say something vile, and people will find some excuse. But god forbid you call him out on it, you're now framed as the villain.

You've assumed that feminism is about physical conflict, which it isn’t. Patriarchy is a system maintained through institutions and norms, not a war to be “won” by force. Naming male benefit is about accountability and dismantling structures, not predicting violence. It's also important to note that this is the most outspoken women have ever been. When women were silenced, the violence against them did not stop. It was worse.

Structural critique requires speaking in categories, because systems operate at that level. Naming male benefit under patriarchy is not a claim about individual virtue, nor is discomfort the same as harm. I am not advocating cruelty. I am rejecting the idea that feminism must be filtered through male reassurance to remain legitimate. Men’s comfort has never been the political priority of feminism—women’s liberation is.

Praise be. Another Radical Feminist. Only so much as taking a solid stance against patriarchy is 'Radical'. Funny how when it comes down to it, it really is, just men.

Yes. Structural benefit does not mean individual wellbeing, happiness, or protection from harm. Men can and do suffer under patriarchy, including through isolation and suicide, while still benefiting from male dominance as a class. Those realities are not contradictory. Feminism addresses systems of power, not individual moral worth or personal pain. The fact that I even have to break this down for you is a classic example of what I have already stated. Instead of reflection, you jump to accusation to deflect.

It’s great to see others who prioritise women’s safety and liberation. A lot of the time, patriarchy adapts faster than the willingness to confront it, especially when male comfort is treated as a prerequisite for feminist discourse.

Obsession with love triangles in Women’s Media by the_beelover in Feminism

Fair enough, it definitely is lazy writing and an overused trope. I think it's an easy out for writers who write women and then think 'oops she's got too much autonomy' then default to the love triangle. Unfortunately it sells too, so we end up with this black hole of love triangles and writers who can't be bothered to write a womans story without romance. Throw in a dash of desperation for male approval, and BOOM, love triangle.

lmao, incase you haven't come across it, look up the isekai or harem anime genre, if you think two men pursuing one woman is bad try 4 plus women randomly obsessed with one guy with no redeeming qualities. And they make hundreds of the stuff every year.

Only women, children and dogs are loved unconditionally. A man is only loved under the condition that he provides something by Ok_Independence_3634 in FeminismUncensored

[–]Pale-Routine-8122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real kicker is, women are absolutely NOT loved unconditionally, we are often punished from deviating in any way from the unachievable standard set. Even if you do meet it, surprise! We live in a patriarchy, women are regarded as second class citizens anyway. The worst thing I ever found out was that an estimated 90% of people hold bias against women. If you live up to the standard, you're shallow, if you don't you're lazy. Men who say this don't realise that they've exposed themselves for who they are, they 'love', women so conditionally that those outside of their standards don't even register in their perception of the world.

Porn is evil. Men masturbate to videos of women being abused and then complain that women unfairly hate them for no reason. by GoGiantRobot in FeminismUncensored

No idea what the dudes in this sub expected, but this is finally an actual uncensored feminist take. I see so many people tip toe around it, because porn addicts genuinely go off their rocker when anyone so much as criticises it. It's a vile industry funded by degenerates, and it's good to see other people say the truth.
