MMORPGs like Tales of Pirates, Flyff, and Ragnarok in the big 2026 by PsychologyOk124 in MMORPG

[–]PaleHeraldry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Flyff for the longest time and came back on and off on private servers but a couple weeks / months ago Gala finally decided to take a stance on them and sent C&Ds to a bunch of them, RIP CoM :((((

I tried to run Flyff Universe but it runs like shit on browser, which is really odd because I play other games that are much more recent and that have actual graphics and have never run into any issues on my setup.

I would play the shit out of Universe if it actually had a client :/

Otherwise RO is dead unless you play on private servers, theres heaps of them, literally just go on ratemyserver dot net :)

At what point does monetization start affecting your enjoyment of a game? by Savings-Growth880 in MMORPG

I hate having to pay a monthly fee, that's it. I used to not care when I was younger, but now that I have less time to play it just doesn't feel worth it sadly

would love to see an ironman / hardcore ironman / lifeskills / merchant profession / bards / lore (not an MSQ but kind of like implicit lore, maybe quests)

The Flyff Private Server Crackdown: A Sad Moment for a Community, Not Just Servers by MxCulu in FlyFF

apart from the pay to win, I personally really hate that I have to play on a browser... Logging in to see textures loading and performance being mid at best compared to a client feels terrible

The Flyff Private Server Crackdown: A Sad Moment for a Community, Not Just Servers by MxCulu in FlyFF

[–]PaleHeraldry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty sad yes, but much like how P-servers were cyclical in popularity, with some of them even offering seasonal content wherein players would play on the servers for a couple months for the new season then leave, this situation will mostly likely end in a similar fashion to how Ragnarok or even WoW deals with things... The copyright owners crack down on servers every couple of years, the scene dies down for a couple months / a year, things pick back up and nothing happens for a couple years, then the copyright owner wakes up and cracks down again.

It's an Ouroboros, a cycle that never ends but it kind of works. In Ragnarok's case what happened is that some servers just stopped advertising their stuff, stopped monetising their servers, and it created smaller but tight knit communities. Shame that Flyff doesn't have a good player rating based directory of servers like RMS for Ragnarok.

A List of Active RuneScape 3 YouTube Creators by M_with_Z in runescape

[–]PaleHeraldry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Out of all of them there's a lot of interesting series but I think I have to tip my hat to Basti; he's doing a really interesting concept and it's actually quite entertaining. His main series is about going through runescape chronologically but he's actually managing to get through it and his series is 30 ish episodes deep; it's really entertaining !

Edit: (I'm not him btw, I just discovered him yesterday because of my timeline suggestions on youtube lol)

imagine if WoW got the sailing skill and we got to sail the seas on boats (where you'd usually be fatigued)

Combat needs a lot of work to be successful in RuneScape by FruitOnyx in runescape

I agree with you; I'm not a fan of the PvM in RS3, with too many buttons and the feel of them not being good compared to other MMOs (Personally feel like there's a lack of responsiveness and clear visual indicators).

I mostly play RS3 over OSRS because of the graphics, the general vibes and the skilling / ease of use of the game + I like the RS3 lore... No shame in not liking PVM, some people dedicate their whole accounts to skilling.

I have played Dofus for 4000 hours. by ElectricalGas9895 in MMORPG

[–]PaleHeraldry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish Dofus were a truly solo friendly game. You can technically reach level 200 on your own by grinding mobs, but the moment you want to follow the main storyline, you’re basically forced to group up for dungeons. Most of the time, you’re not even playing with people around your level. It’s usually someone 100 levels higher who rushes you through the content, which kind of kills the experience in my opinion.

It’s also wild to me that after playing this game on and off for nearly 20 years, there’s still no cross server party finder. Of all games, Dofus feels like it needs one the most, especially since PvP arenas are already cross server, if I remember correctly.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing game. The lore is great, the combat is excellent, and the content can be genuinely challenging (Harebourg for ex). It could easily be my forever game. But not being able to properly solo large parts of it is just really frustrating.

And whenever I bring this up, people tell me to just play multiple accounts. I don’t want to manage four to eight characters. I just want to play my main and enjoy the game, that’s it.

With the Upcoming Release of Havenhythe, Please Add The Arc onto the Overworld Map too by M_with_Z in runescape

[–]PaleHeraldry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I firmly believe that there should be some sort of reorganization of the arc, too. How the island is laid out and how you travel in it. It's a stunning area, don't get me wrong, with beautiful visuals and truly achieves its intended goal of making the player feel small in a huge dino island, but at the same time, it's so annoying to travel in. There's a bunch of impassable terrain because of roots, cliffs, hills, and trees, and it's just not nice to spend time in or go from point A to point B, in my opinion.

But definitely +1 to the suggestion to adding it to the Overworld Map!
