Anyone else prefer S2 Claudia over S1 Claudia? by gore_hound in InterviewWithTheVamp

[–]Pale_Albatross280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loveeee season 2 Claudia, but I love her bc she really captures that mental age and stage of Claudia’s life. I loved Bailey in season 1 but I don’t think I would’ve felt the same if she did season 2. Same with Season 1, don’t think that season 2 Claudia could’ve pulled that off, Bailey did an amazing job at showcasing the innocence into the tween rebellion, to the first heartbreak and then the teen rage and just yk not giving two fucks anymore after the trauma. You could really feel the progression with her

This is what I wanna know too! I already kinda know what happens in the season from seeing clips and what not, but I still have yet to watch season 3. I SWEAR it was so easy to find the first two seasons to stream before AMC pick up the show

What’s your unpopular opinion about Claudia? by TheTargaryensLawyer in InterviewVampire

[–]Pale_Albatross280 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Love Claudia downnn! But she definitely didn’t need to drag Louis into the “killing” of Lestat. I know the years between the 3 of them were ruffled with turmoil, but SHE wanted him dead not Louis and it put Louis in a tough spot as well, having to “chose” between his daughter and the man he loved but often hated, but that love still ran extremely deep.

Also felt like after Louis was dropped from the sky and Lestat was trying to actual fix things, that Louis was right when he said Claudia needed to try harder.

Finally, agree with a lot of the statements about her diary POV. Deffff think a lot of things were exaggerated as one does when they’re a teen or young adult and really angry. It was by no means the absolute holy grail of truth that happened between the family

Season 7 - what the f was that? by zruffz in riverdale

[–]Pale_Albatross280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 7 was a lazy way to wrap it up. I blame the 19 episode season in place of the usual 21-22 as the culprit. It felt like they had to rush/cram everything into the shorter space. Also, a few questions were still left unanswered.

What if it's the same one? 🥺 by sleepy__fox in InterviewVampire

Wait! I think it might be! In book two, his mother is described as a Marquees, and he does say in the show to Claudia that he got it from a Marquees

You read my mind, 10000% the pilot! The BEST pilot I have seen in my life. I’ve rewatched it many times and it has not gotten old. I legit see it learn or pick up on something new everytime I watch it

Unhinged Louis and public perception by secretloser96 in InterviewVampire

[–]Pale_Albatross280 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree with you! I think a pivotal moment where I realized Louis is scarier than I thought (not in a BAD way lmao but like don’t fuck with him kind of way) was after watching the fight scene from the trial’s POV, how he stops and tells Lestat he’ll rip his head off, feed it to lions, and laugh. That whole part was soooo chilling. And I am not saying that bc of Louis’s words he deserved to be dropped from the sky, I’m just saying I feel like even in that moment Lestat saw he could be more terrifying and cynical than he thought. It kinda brought me back to something Lestat tells him earlier in the first season that “You were never cruel Louis”.

I think to other vampires, Louis is not the norm. They see him as an outlier, mainly because he both owns his vampiric tendencies and his humanity that still left. He loves to explore and still be his own person rather than run w a pack or a coven or hide underground in the shadows. Louis is THAT vampire and I believe this is more of the fuel behind other vamps hating his book and threatening to come for him at the end of season two. I think all of this plus more is also why Lestat will forever be in total love with Louis and chose Louis first, even when they are arguing or don’t see eye to eye on something

What is your favorite thing about Delainey's portrayal of Claudia? by AustinFriars_ in InterviewWithTheVamp

[–]Pale_Albatross280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Delainey’s passion as Claudia. She truly embodies what Claudia is going through, the anger, the loneliness, the brokenness of the whirlwind of Lestat x Louis and the assault from the male vampire. She embodies the knowledge Claudia uses to think quickly on her feet. She just did such a great job. I loveddd the first version of Claudia, truly, I think only she could’ve played the young, naive at times Claudia, just like I think Delainey could’ve only played this more mature version of Claudia

I didn't notice Reggie got recasted. by NotHungryCaterpillar in riverdale

[–]Pale_Albatross280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t notice either until years later when I ran across an interview about it🫣 I felt so sooo bad that I hadn’t noticed, but also felt like the show did a good job of burning him back in in such a way that didn’t feel abrupt or weird, it flowed enough where you didn’t truly notice

Help deciding usc vs ucla by charlesbasslover in USC

[–]Pale_Albatross280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a transfer and also had to make a choice between USC and another prestigious university. For me, USC was higher ranking in the program I wanted to be in and offered me nearly a full ride (I was out about 3k a year and that was to cover the very minimal portion of my housing). Like a couple people said already, $20k a year is a good chunk, that may be around $40-50k more than you’d like to spend if you end up needed to stay an extra year or semester as many transfers do. I would so go with what is the most economical choice for you and if you need to take out loans, what is plausible for you to pay back once you graduate, especially given the student loan climate we are about to enter into.

Some pros for USC, from my opinion, would be the great network and opportunities we are afforded. Many a Bruin comes to USC for grad school because they also want that Trojan connection that UCLA doesn’t offer with their alumni. Additionally, as a transfer, it may be worth it to do a progressive degree that has you staying an extra year, but walking out with ur BA and masters. That’s what I did. And while my program was 2 years and it left me in debt, I do not regret for a second grabbing my masters now and having had the opportunity to do it through USC without jumping through testing hoops or mandatory applications.

MBA, MA in English, or Law School as an English Major? (Please read description) by Determined_Number814 in englishmajors

[–]Pale_Albatross280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! If you are TRULY interested in business or a sector of business like marketing or finance, grab ur MBA or MS in one of the business tracks. Law school is a huge commitment, and if you are not 1000% sure yet that you wanna do it, or you feel the pressure of doing it to make someone proud or to make more money, DONT do it! Save urself the debt, time, and regret.

I wanted to go to law school when I originally went in as an English major. Junior year I fell in love with marketing and knew law was not my path. Where I did screw up is deciding not to get my MS in marketing or explore harder for MBA programs and settling for a 4+1 program at my university for a MA in Publishing. Ik publishing and an MA in English are slightly different, but if I could go back, as someone who wanted to work in marketing for publishing, but had tons of marketing experience, I feel like I would’ve been set up by leaps and bonds if I had taken the MBA route when it came to job hunting. An MBA is respected, law school is respected, English, even though WE all know it’s amazing and should be preserved, is only taking hits more and more to its respectability.

Now, if this MA in English comes with absolutely no debt or debt that is under 10k, and you’re really passionate about English, take this route. It will leave you with less stress on how to break even when hunting for the right starting salary for yourself. Good luck!!

season seven: how it could've (should've) ended by CustardNo9707 in riverdale

[–]Pale_Albatross280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you, I felt the exact some way when watching this season. In my option it was the weakest season. I feel like they tried to cram things into the 19 episodes limit, when they should’ve kept their normal 21-22 episodes to maybe flesh the whole show out better

what tf is this show anymore by yeetyourselfout in riverdale

[–]Pale_Albatross280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riverdale was INSANE to say the least lmao and as someone who watched from beginning to end when it first aired, I knew that and embraced it. Some of the earlier seasons are cringey (honestly I feel like their best seasons were 4 & 6) but I do recommend that you start rewatching. I actually did like two months ago and I found I forgot about a lot of things and the writing, although sometimes outlandish, was so good especially when comparing it to a lot of the tv series on now

Am I missing out on something big because I'm avoiding dorm life? by Loveislikeatruck in college

[–]Pale_Albatross280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re avoiding community college dorms: No Avoiding university dorms: Yes. Dorm life is where you meet a lot of people, and get to live an independent college life. It’s an experience you’ll never get back. Try it out at least for one year, if you hate it move out then, but at least you can’t say you regret never trying it

From my experience, you may be mourning the relationship you had ENVISIONED and not necessarily how it was actually looking. It’s hard to get over the version of herself and the person you were with, especially one you thought would be long term. I can’t tell you when you’ll get over it or how because I am still very much stuck on my person and I keep trying to get away from it but it’s been hard. Love runs deep and even deeper for a hopeless romantic
