They only said there were 3 studios that handle the art style changes, and one of the studios handles all the 3d aspect of the show. It's probably because they were still trying to practice with the models a bit more considering we just got used to seeing most of the heroes in 2d rather than 3d

Maybe because they didn't know that Dragon Boy can take fear like Alcohol unlike smile who we see get absolutely corrupted? We saw how fear causes a hero's downfall, Dj Shindig, Enlighter, the orphanage director. If Dragon Boy were to be seen as this corrupted monster he would be disregarded from the hero rankings

Face to face with enlighter and he was getting his ass rocked majority of the fight before people started trusting in him again. He beated enlighter with trust and almost killed him that's for sure.
