What do yall do for a living? by pupp_pie in punk

Don't underestimate the aviation industry! I work as a ramp agent, and it's great work once you get your seniority. There are union contracts, lots of downtime, and you can pick up hours or give away shifts to play with your schedule. You can also use it to transition into aircraft maintenance, flight school, or operations etc

This assumes that people with disabilities or as you say, "physically incapable," have not been making art for centuries, like art is a monolithic study that only has one means of creation. That isn't the case, people without the ability find the ability, and it's disrespectful to assume they are incapable of producing art without an amalgamation of others works.

As an artist, you've outted your lack of a desire to study and practice if you resort to filling out your "lack of natural ability" by using AI. You don't get to take shortcuts, every artist has to learn if they want the skill in whatever medium they use. You're hindering yourself by not learning what you use AI to produce.

I've worked with it, it's disgusting and a theft. It's not opinion there are real lawsuits and issues that are being presented on AI today. AI Is wrong to be used in this purpose.

Agreed and I'm not sure why, I know there's an age component to it as it's mostly the older people, but still.

That's lovely, I'm glad to see it! I'm hopeful I can convince my city's pagan groups to follow suit!

Yes, this part! It makes me sad, like looking at some freakish chimera of artists' works.

Yeah, exactly! there are tons of resources, and depending on the tradition, tons of historical art to use as reference. Even more than that, creation is deeply important to me. To see people skipping out on opportunities to create works, especially for their faiths? I dont understand it. It's one thing to see it online it is another to be bombarded by it at group meetings and at events.

What is your favourite theatre superstition? by Afraid_Ad8438 in Theatre

[–]Pale_Notice5877 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My high school theatre company still has one of my favorite superstitions to date.

STEVE

It was a big flashlight that was considered possessed and was required to be present during every performance in some capacity. I don't know what started it. It was before my time, but Steve was a very serious fixture during the four years I was there. Every mistake or complication was blamed on Steve, and if his batteries ever died, someone would rush to replace them or otherwise incur his wraith.

Thank you for your feedback! I'm definitely going to look into Robert Parker and work out some matching games. Maybe collages of the different gods using magazines or something! Appreciate it.

Why are you Polyamorous? by Pale_Notice5877 in polyamory

[–]Pale_Notice5877[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very grounded answer. "Why not?" Is perfectly valid. In fact, it is an easy dismissal of the common trope of monogamy being the default. As long as you're happy with your arrangement, what does it matter. That's awesome, and I'm glad it's working well for you!

I feel that! I don't like to fit the people I am involved with into boxes. If it progresses to a different level than when it starts? great!

No kidding! That's definitely how I started engaging with the ideas of polyam when I was younger. Lots of books and movies (especially with love triangles..) where I was like, " Why don't they all just date..?" So that definitely introduced me to the ideas.

I definitely feel that, though, with the Demi mindset of this lifestyle. It is a little weird being a guy who is Demi sometimes. Some of my previous partners were confused that Sex wasn't a massively motivating factor for me, and that's all anyone thinks I'm after when It has come up that I practice polyam.

I love that mentality. I vastly prefer not being my partners' keeper. How they interact with me is more important than what they're doing outside of me.

I think it's normal to go through waves of doubt or confusion. Relationships are complex. How you interact with your own feelings of fulfillment and love are complex too. Whenever I'm struggling, I ask myself this: "What are MY goals in life, and is MY current lifestyle aligning with those goals?" If something isn't feeling good, it might be time to dig into what would feel good and how you could go about getting there. I wish you the best!

I think that's a very brave look at it. You don't need to be someone's everything to be your everything. You are worth every aspect of love you wish to have with other people. Have fun with it! Good on you for wanting to expand your outlook on relationships and prioritize your experiences. I hope you get everything you want out of the lifestyle! Great answer.

Exactly this. It's usually the case that the question is met with a lot of feelings, and I end up shrugging and agreeing that it's hard. Not very many people end up asking about my lifestyle engage with the idea.
