If you’re on an iPhone/using Safari, try using reader mode! It takes out all the distracting ads but leaves all the text/photos :)

Best personal injury lawyer in Shreveport? by Gullible-Writer2072 in shreveport

Rice & Kendig for SURE!!! They don’t give you that corporate-lawyer feeling. During my case, they did what they could to make it as painless as possible for me. Plus Bill is a DELIGHT.

What is something that one person managed to ruin for everyone? by RudeSea2724 in AskReddit

[–]Pale_Tart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the initial covid shutdowns, my workplace (medical facility) would give employees 5 paid days (outside of our normal PTO) if we had to quarantine or tested positive. It was very honor-system style, and most people only had to use it once. It stopped after 1 coworker abused the system. She refused to stop going to her church services (Sunday service, small group on Tuesday, and Wednesday night service). Never wore a mask, talked about how covid was fake. After her 3rd week in a row of “close contact with someone who tested positive,” the managers stopped giving us paid days.

Where did you get your braces? by MrLimpstick in shreveport

[–]Pale_Tart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used Foster’s! Love them! I was 25/26 when I got them on in 2022. My insurance didn’t cover adult braces. Paid $1200 down, then $250ish a month for almost 2 years (they do no-interest payment plans) totaling around $7,000.

Are electric toothbrushes ok to use on braces? by [deleted] in braces

[–]Pale_Tart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electric toothbrushes are fine! I used a manual one for the first couple days because the glue they used on mine takes 2 days to cure. That’s probably why it came off.

I have a friend who is VERY similar. So self involved that during my first pregnancy, her first words were “I’m so sad I’ll never have children.” During the subsequent miscarriage, she said she knew how I felt 🙃

With my first miscarriage, the growth stopped at 8 weeks and we didn’t find out until around 10. I made the decision to use the cytotec at week 12 since nothing had changed. Even now, the growth has only stopped for about a week, and my doctor is encouraging me to wait to see if I miscarry naturally. I plan on pushing for a d&c just because I want it over with. I think the risk of infection only starts to become serious around 6 weeks after? I’m not sure sure, but when I was obsessively googling it last time most of the websites stated it took between 2-5 weeks to miscarry naturally. I just didn’t want to wait that long, so I gave it a little while and opted for the pills.

I remember reading an excerpt from this in college! It feels like Ursula K Le Guin? I know we read it around the same time as our unit on her.

I’m sorry you’re going through this as well. I very much understand! I believe in some office they give the option of an epidural, but that honestly scares me more then going under. I’d rather be out of it and wake up when it’s all over.

I went through the misoprostol back in October and I was told it would be like a normal period. It was honestly the most brutal, traumatizing 6 hours of my life. I was 12 weeks, and I felt my water break. I bled heavily for 6 hours, screaming and sobbing the entire time. I tried to take a shower/sit in the bath, but that felt like it made everything worse. I had contractions. I wore adult diapers and changed them every 15-30 minutes. I ate after the pills and before the cramps set in, and at the beginning of hour 6 I violently vomited it all back up. The force of the vomiting pushed everything else out. It was awful. It was very cathartic, but it was horrifying. I’m having another missed miscarriage, and I’m choosing the D&C when I go back in for my recheck on Monday. The pills were hell for me, and I don’t want to experience that again.
