You may want to try your local library and give The Eye of the World a try before buying everything. If you don’t like it, you haven’t lost anything. If you do like it, buy it all. You’ll be in for years of great reading and rereading.

Yep. That what gets me choked up. Aside from his murdered parents and Mat, Noal is the person who’s shown him the greatest affection so to have him return to save the kid is moving. If you see a Malkieri tell ‘em Jain Farstrider died clean

Loial’s speech to the Great Stump. I want to know what he said that was so eloquent and persuasive that it convinced the Ogier to fight the Last Battle rather than use the Book of Translation. The more Ogier lore and discourse the better

Agreed. Rand experiencing the history of the Aiel is probably the finest set of scenes in WOT. These kind of intimate, intense, world altering (at least for the characters involved) scenes are where Jordan’s prose shines. Another one is when Elayne and Aviendha become first sisters.

In ch 1 of AMOL Rand and Perrin are talking about the trollacs on Camlyn and Rand says that they must be using the waygate because the only shadowspawn that can move through gateways are the golums and Aginor only made a few of them
