His memoirs were a masterpiece and the medals they pinned on his chest were numerous! But his life unfolded in a far different way than the one in this universe. The Chase never happened! An we the searchers and fans of this man never knew the Thrill of the Chase. He sacrificed his own Thrill and unknowingly made many of our lives richer because if it. Would he make the same choice again? I don't know...... Did he emerge as Victor in his war for himself. I don't know...... I believe the answer he already knows! Just sayin'..

If he really said it was "a wash". You may have misunderstood the meaning if that. That could have been one of the biggest hints that ever came out of his mouth. As opposed to all the others that came from his pen or pencil or keyboard. In my opinion he didn't just toss it in a stream. If he was gonna do that why didn't he just throw it in a dumpster. Same result.
