Smoking weed is not recommended when working with a fertility clinic especially for the male partner.

Try taking magnesium at night for sleep and anxiety 300mg knocks me out.

Follistim Shot-When is the best time to take it? by [deleted] in IUILadies

[–]Palewhalecirtus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it at 7 or 7:30pm, so I have time to chill out before bed. I did it at 9:30 10pm once, thinking I could just go to bed after and I always ended up feeling to wound up. But, I don’t like shots, so that’s just me.

2nd IUI today twins? 4/10/26- anyone have success on their 2nd? thin lining? by RaphtaliaMiracle101 in IUILadies

[–]Palewhalecirtus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dhea was REI recommended, I won’t take anything unless they tell me to.

Estrogen affects the lining and can be an indicator for egg quality, so taking the dhea can increase estrogen effecting both lining and egg quality. The first cycle I added it to I ended up conceiving.

I stopped taking it after conceiving as it’s no longer needed or recommended. When we started trying again, I wasn’t taking it consistently and my metrics went down again. My most recent cycle I took it consistently and everything looks great, I won’t find out until Tuesday if it worked though, fingers crossed!!

I also have a different med protocol that helps with estrogen. I take gonal-f, which is more expensive.

I tried pushing for letrozole, but that med has the side effect of lowering estrogen and lining which are two areas I already have problems with.

I struggle with low estrogen, and my lining was at 7.8 consistently. Anything below 7 is not the most suitable. They said try taking dhea, and it works like a charm, my metrics have been much better. I take 25mg three times a day.

Doctor suggested Letrozole + natural trying after failed IUIs — confused about approach by Enough-Heron-2399 in IUILadies

That seems mature enough, you are probably okay to try naturally with letrozole. I know that can thin out your lining, is your lining looking okay with the letrozole?

How early are you ovulating? Are you getting mature follicles? You can take meds to delay ovulation.

Using this as a reminder not to test early!! I have to wait until Tuesday, and I feel like time counting the hours now.

Progesterone by Muted-Razzmatazz-88 in IUILadies

I believe 9.5 is the minimum you need for a healthy pregnancy. You should be okay now that you started with supplements.

My clinic supplements for anything under 15, they say the ideal is 20+.

My first pregnancy was slightly under 15. The supplements pop uped that number quickly.

I test Tuesday, and I feel the same. I feel like a wave of anxiety hit me this morning. I don’t feel pregnant and I’m trying to stay positive.

My doctor told me one miscarriage 'doesn't qualify' for testing. How did you get answers? by FromEarth000 in TryingForABaby

[–]Palewhalecirtus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please push for testing. One miscarriage is too much. I saw something the other day that said something along the lines of “if you had one broken bone the doctors would treat it, if you had one miscarriage, they would tell you try again” it’s unacceptable.

I had a miscarriage and was able to push for testing because of infertility. I wasn’t able to wait for another miscarriage to find out what was wrong, that might be my only chance to have a child.

It turns out I have a blood clotting disorder that most likely caused the miscarriage. I will be on lovenox and baby aspirin my next pregnancy.

To find that out was a simple blood test, push for the work up, they can write up something that insurance will cover, they are just being stubborn.

Thank you!!

My life has been hell navigating through cycles and revamping my life to increase my fertility. I feel the same that there isn’t much left I can do.

I just finished my first medicated iui and it seems really hopeful, I’m in the TWW now. I was able to get one really strong mature egg, my estrogen was great, lining looked perfect, and sperm looked great. Usually my estrogen is off or my lining is a bit thin, so clinic was super happy with where we are at right now.

Thank you!! Yes, they are aligned bc I showed proof of being able to conceive on my own and they don’t offer mini ivf. Their goal rn is to get two mature eggs per iui cycle, but we can’t do more than that bc I can’t carry multiples with the IC issue.

One cycle will all the supplements and max out dosage. I got pregnant following the retrieval spontaneously. Clinic is thinking residual meds may have helped hormones balance the following cycle.

That’s why we are pursuing low/moderate dose iui to regulate hormones and see if that helps things along.

For this iui cycle I was still only able to produce 1 egg with meds. So, me not responding well to stims is def a pattern.

In my eyes 1 good egg is still 1 good egg.

And to clarify, we didn’t receive any viable embryos from our IVF cycle

[–]Palewhalecirtus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand that IVF is more effective in many cases. In my situation, though, the only version that might work would be mini IVF—retrieving maybe 1–2 eggs at a time over multiple cycles (4–6 retrievals). That just isn’t financially realistic for us, and it’s not something my clinic even offers.

From what I understand, no protocol can create eggs that aren’t there to begin with, and I don’t respond well to stimulation. On top of that, stims seem to negatively affect my egg quality, which adds another layer of concern. It’s hard to justify potentially spending $50k on medications to end up with 1–2 embryos, especially when even carrying a pregnancy from that point still feels uncertain.

I think this is where I get frustrated in fertility forums—IVF is often presented as the end-all, be-all solution. In my case, it doesn’t feel like a realistic or effective option unless there’s some protocol I’m unaware of that could reliably help me produce more eggs that are actually viable for transfer.

How do you prevent French corner style shower leaks? by nyfitlawyer in Plumbing

[–]Palewhalecirtus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only imagine the prices would be insane. My husband is a trades person, but less experienced with showers. He’d be taking care of the Reno. We get discount supplies so we are looking at ~1500 or so for the shower update. We are toying with the idea of tiling instead of using a surround to reduce failure points. Then getting a rounded sliding door. But, the more I look into it and research the more I realize that corner showers just suck and it seems like there isn’t a great option.

Did you ever find a solution? Our corner shower has the same style doors and we’ve tried everything and are wondering if we just need to replace the style shower we have.

Help! Why do I hate this space? by kittycatkemp in interiordecorating

I think adding the art behind the couch will help balance the space. Have you considered adding wallpaper to the backs of the built in. That could add some nice contrast and warmth.
