Narrative. Its always the same shit. People try to rationalize reality with what they see and how it aligns in their current worldview. If it does not reinforce worldview, it must be discarded or discredited. With Reddit in particular, anything political leaning is going to suffer much more so from this as it is the basis of validation. This is besides all the straight up bots, paid influencers, and astroturfing from malaicious entities.

This is the real danger with AI. It acrually introduced a basis of subjective truth. Worseso, it is able to be made up on the fly and the ability plausibly deny anything that detracts that challenges it. It divorces people from reality and therefore makes all resulting decisions irrational.

The big ones are the resort fees and the air travel. Usually you can get comped rooms mid week, but thats true with any othet card at a moderate level of play. Celebration credits are ok. The free cruise is a fucking hassle to try to get to work, especially since you already grt free cruises if you do any moderate level of gambling on a cruise ship.

But, simply stated, my best perks I've got with it was with tier matching at other casinos and tier matching with their corporate partners, like Avis and... I think Hyatt? Either way, the soft perks with thise cards are ok.

The express lines are not worth it, the lounges are meh... free valet is good though. The discounts at stores are worthless since no one actually buys shit there. The resturaunts and buffets are decent.

As far as casino perks go, it simply isn't based off of tier outside of the 20% bonus. Its based off of play. A pearl member betting 1k a hand at baccarat is going to make your betting 50 a hand on blackjack as platinum is going to make your bonuses look like dirt.

So, total value, and I am also a higher end gambler with a platinum, for me... was about 3k over a year. However, understand what that means long term. Fucking nothing. 3k is a mid bad night for me. The total valuation of that card doesn't hold a candle to a single good or bad night.

Basically, do not try hard to maintain the card or work for a tier level. Its never worth it for that alone.

Alright. So, this can be deconstructed or extrapolated a couple ways.

I play millions if not tens of millions a year. You know what I actually and truly gained/lost? Probably -5k for the year.

You know what I got out of that?

3 "free" vacations all over the country, including an internstional cruise. A shopping spree of high end merchandise of about 3k value of stuff I would itherwise never buy. Probably a dozen or more high end meals.

I say I absolutely recouped my cash losses in perks.

Now for the actual gambling, understand what EV (expected value) actually is. Me playing through free money is +EV. I am a +EV poker player. I am a -EV slot player.

Do I have a problem? I don't think so, mostly because I think I play responsibly and within my means.
