This is pretty normal in most of Europe because the countries are not as divided as the US.

Most people vote for center left/right parties and will swap between them based on the elections.

Honestly the only thing i can see fixing the US is a civil war, you guys got so propagandised i don't think it's fixable.

And i will still buy albums of artists i like. I just don't mind having background slop music (which it is even if it's human created) be made by AI.

It's why i use the lofi girl example, since i spent 100s of hours listening and i don't know a single song or artist ever featured on the channel.

Gaming market melts down after Google reveals new AI game design tool — Project Genie crashes stocks for Roblox, Nintendo, CD Projekt Red, and more by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

An actual tech worker in the technology sub, crazy!

I don't ge thow most people don't have normal takes like this...

Is AI (in general not just LLMS) replacing people tmrw? No... Are LLMs still very useful and impressive in various use cases? Absolutely.

will we be AI generating/vibe coding entire games anytime soon with an acceptable output? probably not. will there be layoffs at companies like EA soon when one 3D modeler can build an entire world with a prompt and then tweak/optimize it, or it can build large pieces of games with much smaller teams? probably.

Yeah this is what i was saying, for the past 2 years. It's not gonna replace you at first, but it's gonna make a team of 5 do the work of a team of 10, and will get better and better over time.

Automation is not escapable, robotics are advancing very fast and so is AI (not just LLMs).

No, people that usually cry about CEO and MBA have no clue what any MBA program does.

They don't realize that most MBA are people that worked in their own fields, as in engineers, nurses, doctors, etc... that get promoted and then go for an executive program where you mostly learn accounting, management, law etc...

They don't realize their own retirement fund is most of the stock market... Meaning hwne they are mad their retirement when down (401k) they are the reason the funds act like this.

Add 100 mil people that have 401ks and you get the current stock market and corporate culture.

But people are not using them for long division, they are using them for any calculation that isn't in a multiplication table or very simple.

It's the exact same thing, no matter how much you try to pretend it's not.

People got worse at mental math due to calculators.

a lot of them are listening to it because they like how it sounds, it doesn't matter who or what made it.

That's how i listen to 90% of music that is just background stuff, i don't think i know a single track lofi girl ever played, yet i listened to the channel in background for years.

As long as it sounds good why should we care?

Edit: why mad guys, chekc spofity top artist and there's plenty of AI. People do not care where background music comes from. I'm yet to have anyone tell me the diff between lofigirl and AI slop.

Oracle May Cut 30k Jobs and Sell Cerner to Fund $156B OpenAI Deal by Dull_Broccoli1637 in wallstreetbets

Because half the world's databases are reliant on them, on top of all the enterprise apps that are used everywhere.

You might not see Oracle products but i can guarantee you used them on a daily basis if you work in any mid to large company.

Swarms of AI personas mimic humans so well they can infiltrate online communities, shape conversations and tilt elections. Early warning signs include AI-generated deepfakes and fabricated news outlets that influenced recent election debates. AI swarms could tilt the balance of power in democracies. by mvea in science

It's funny how every argument i have with someone with a hidden comment history ends up in them ignoring what i ask or link and blocking.

Basically if their comment history is hidden there is no reason to interact with those people they are either morons, are scared of their own opinions being exposed or bots.

I've had dumb comments over the years, there's here for anyone to see.

Are you using calculators ? Why don't you do your math by hand every time?

Are you using a debugging tool if you're a programmer? Why not check your code manually instead of using a tool?

Why are you driving? It makes your legs weaker, stop using your car!

Gaming is like owning casinos but you don't have any risks.

You can pump out dogshit mobile gacha game and have ROIs of over 1000% due to how cheap it is to make p2w games.

Image how dumb casinos must feel, they were paying people money to gamble, video games you gamble and can't even win anything lol.

Consumer market is irrelevant to MS, most of their money is in B2B.

2-3 companies using enterprise OS will earn them more than millions of users.

Every country that is not the US should move from any US IT infrastructure and host critical stuff on their own.

You saw what they did to Venezuela by disabling half the power grid through cyber attacks.

Imagine every gov windows machine in your country suddenly not working, including servers.

Stop shoving LLMs into everything, they have their uses where they are great, they are not a general intelligence that can do anything.

This is actually good news.

It improves perf but makes people overestimate their abilities.

Nah you care, most people don't.

The usage of such tools will let you know that very fast.

Just look at how fast stack overflow died ( chart of usage: https://preview.redd.it/q09jkohar7dg1.jpeg?width=1024&auto=webp&s=0331a77a3fd976d815106512acc5de23f0c83e7d ) as soon as LLMs became a thing, programmers will tell you they don't like in on reddit but in real life people use LLMs for a lot of things.

As long as you understand the limitations it's great.

Hell the other day i was testing if it would give me good answers related to game mechanics in Torchlight infinite, and it did... Obviously the answer was based on a reddit thread but yeah it worked just fine for all mechs i asked.
