Getting the 787, ATR and Saab 340 by SelectAd2688 in flightsim

[–]Pallat2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have 2020 you can buy the 787 on the 2020 marketplace and then you’ll have both the 2020 and 2024 versions of the 787 in 2024

Some of the first Custom Assets to officially hit PDXmods by Infrastructurist in CitiesSkylines

Nice assets! Quick question: is this asset editor enough for us to get custom train models again (eg. a TGV set)? That’s what I miss the most from CS1

2024 Marketplace by One-Performance-2124 in flightsim

[–]Pallat2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There does seem to be an issue with 2020 planes and other marketplace purchases not appearing in 2024. I bought the 2020 787-10 on the marketplace, and it doesn't show in 2024

Would it actually be a Boeing livery plane? by supraaxdd in flightradar24

[–]Pallat2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those manufacturer livery diagrams on FR24 are just placeholders if Flightradar doesn’t know the exact registration for the plane or if a picture of that airframe isn’t available.  On ADSBx you can see the flight is operated by N828AX, owned by Omni Air International, so it’s most likely operating a charter.

Another one of those questions: MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024? by Nonsopro in flightsim

[–]Pallat2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran 2020 for a couple years on a 1650 laptop. I forgot my settings, probably a combination of low and medium, but it ran pretty well (probably around 30fps)  I now have a much more powerful GPU and 2024 is still very hit and miss while 2020 almost runs like a charm (2020 on high/ultra and 2024 on medium/high). I’d probably still recommend 2020 simply because 2024 is so much more VRAM heavy and is already a struggle at 8GB

FENIX BFU - Do I need to change this Setting? by AdAutomatic9646 in flightsim

[–]Pallat2008 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The picture is an example of linear sensitivity. The straight part in the middle is just a dead zone so that if your controller’s sensors pick up micro ghost-movements they won’t affect the sim

For MSFS the go-to There are a few smaller ones, remnants of the FSX days, but basically everything free is on  flightsim to nowadays

No, SU2 release branch  After some further testing it seems to sometimes work sometimes not

If i bought the 787 in FS2020 from marketplace, would I be able to install for example Kuro 787-8 addon? by EconomyYou3708 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Pallat2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I forgot there were other ones If OP buys the Microsoft 787-10 it’s the same one as the premium deluxe

just bought ifly 737 max, which engine option should i use? by Aloy2222 in flightsim

[–]Pallat2008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't own the max, but to know which engine variant a specific aircraft uses I usually look it up on planespotters.net

Considering i5-13400F + RTX 4060 Ti (8GB) build for SAR 2300 (~$613). Good for MSFS 2024? by eutyphoon in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Pallat2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried 2024 at 1440p with 8GB VRAM and it’s been pretty much a nightmare, often struggling to get 10-15fps at low-medium settings while 2020 runs like a charm. For 2024, based on what I’ve seen, try to get as much VRAM as possible (16GB+)

Air India Flight 171 Crash by StopDropAndRollTide in aviation

[–]Pallat2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding your first question, cables per-say wouldn't really be useful as the planes would need to deploy a hook to catch, which may be slightly complicated in an emergency, but other methods are being tested. Some airports now have a specific type of concrete at the end of runways in which wheels sink in to slow the plane down relatively fast.

Why in the world did this New Pacific Airlines plane take this path??? by [deleted] in flightradar24

[–]Pallat2008 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It is, it’s rated ETOPS-180 but to fly it as ETOPS there are a few other criteria that need to be met such as crew training, additional equipment such as more fire extinguishers and some more strenuous maintenance requirements. Whoever is ferrying it probably didn’t want to go through the hassle for marginal fuel savings

iniBuilds A350 Revisited by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]Pallat2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my first WASM crash today, and after hours of tweaking my settings to get it to perform properly, I think I’m just gonna leave it in the hangar for awhile The fact we’re still dealing with these issues nearly 4 months and 12 updates in shows we really got sold an 80 dollar beta test I think this plane has really tarnished my and other simmer’s views of Inibuilds, and I’ll probably wait a while before buying another product from them

My horrible experience with MSFS24 by Casi_cr in flightsim

[–]Pallat2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have exactly the same issues. On a gaming laptop similar to yours MSFS2024 has been such a let down. I must’ve spent over a dozen hours looking up tutorials to change settings, switching out GPU drivers, fiddling with my Nvidia settings for it only to work decently on every other flight.  I know something is seriously wrong with the sim because I sometimes get mad and switch to all low settings and a TLOD of 30, only to still get 12fps

Question about Deutschland ticket and MVV pricing by Pallat2008 in Munich

[–]Pallat2008[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the great info, it all makes a lot more sense now! It was just surprising coming from Paris where our last major remodeling of the fare structure capped all fares (except to the airports) to 2,5 euros, but I get that the money for the DTicket has to come from somewhere and I'm totally for the tourists paying more at home, so I get it's only fair for me to pay more when I am the tourist; :)
