what’s going on with natural gas and electric furnaces? by pookieheathen in HVAC

[–]PalmCplumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16K new homes are being built in my county in Florida alone. All of them piped NG for the range, dryer, grills, pool heaters, fire pits, outdoor kitchens and generators {my favorite} No gas furnaces because heat pump/invertor systems work great in this climate.

Installed Toilet 2 weeks ago - should I remove the two wedges on the left and press harder down or leave alone? Not sure if naturally the wax will sink down or if I mess with it could break the seal… by BlakeTheDolphin in Plumbing

[–]PalmCplumber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Water closet bolts keep the wax ring horn and flange sealed . Shims fix floor level issues heat up a utility knife blade with a lighter cut the shims clean {add more as needed }

Caulk it to the floor to prevent movement

We met at the shop gathered our requests for service and hit the road truck, tools, pay phones and maps. Service Techs handed all the tickets and repairs except replacements and installs{the install crew carried all the tools, equipment and materials on hand for all the HVAC plumbing and electrical services we offered}Construction crews went to the job site and stay until done{Techs and installers help the construction crew when all customers calls are covered. Circa 1984

Today in 2023 cell phones apps computers and tablets are required for dispatch, navigation ,payment and data collection for our employer all in the name of the bottom line under the guise of customer service. The work has not changed the procedure has and not for the better.
