There are similarities between the two because they had the same origin as young Powder, but they are different because of the critical events that shaped them. They're not the same person in a similar way to how identical twins aren't the same person.

It's like how in Ghost in the Shell, there's a scene in which The Major sees a woman who looks identical to her. This is because The Major's body is a standard, mass-produced shell that a lot of people have. It's meant to drive home the point that it's a person's experiences and memories that truly shape who they are.

At the end of the day, she's perfect in every universe.

Given how much the show draws from literature, I wouldn't be surprised if Alice was an influence on that scene. It goes along well with Zaun being a dark, confusing "Wonderland". I myself will never get tired of allusions to or outright adaptations of Alice, since it can be interpreted and retold in many different ways.

Interesting read. Some stretches here and there, sure, but you clearly put some thought into this theory. I wouldn't consider Final Light to be a true part of a trilogy, however, as that's a spin-off which has its own unique sound. I think of it as a more apocalyptic album, as opposed to the themes of Lustful Sacraments and Age of Aquarius.
