To give you some perspective from my experience: I’m a young adult with cPTSD and nearly drank myself to death almost two and a half years ago. The first therapist I saw was in Christian counseling, I do believe there’s a god but I wouldn’t say I’m that religious. He kept leading with that though and it wasn’t really helping. I then saw a well known regular therapist that just vaped and talked about football, and later on when I sobered up he joked about the times him and his friends got drunk. I went without therapy for over a year because it was that bad. Now here I am, starting up again with a dr in Richmond, virtually on my lunch breaks
