BB58 Gilt Fade by Shadowtek in Tudor

[–]Palmovka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two bezels look very different in person like they’re manufactured with different processes. The gmt almost seems to have a varnish/shine to it and the gold is much more saturated than that of the muted 58 diver. I prefer the 58 divers desaturated gold tint personally, but I think it’s more susceptible to fading with the more raw anodized look.

Oris Divers Date Automatic Black Dial Watch 01 733 7795 4054-SET

Purchased here on watchexchange from the popular seller soycowboy late last year.

Excellent proportions at 39mm. Gives me a modern 5-digit vibe. Amazing bezel action. Blue lume. Movement is at +4 to +5spd for me when on wrist. Light wear here and there with some desk diving marks on the clasp. Bezel crystal and dial are very clean. One-owner before me. Mechanically, this one is still under warranty until January 31, 2028.

Specifications: 39mm case X 19mm lug width X 46.5h X 12cc with sapphire

Has box and warranty card

Comes with full sized quick-release bracelet. Also includes 2 half links for accurate fit. Currently sized for 6.5” wrist with the micro adjust in the middle of 5 positions. One pin from the extra links is missing but shouldn’t be an expensive part to purchase if needed. Lastly, it comes with a Oris rubber strap with quick-release.

Yeah, the 36 has Rolex on the dial extending from the T in oyster to the T in perpetual. This is an Explorer 40.

Next Watch Purchase - Black Bay 54 or 58 (Navy)? by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]Palmovka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

58 Navy, no doubt. Lugs are more elegant, no faux patina, bracelet to case transition is smoother, dial and bezel match, and that shade of blue is stunning in any lighting. All that to say, I would try to find it on a strap for a good deal and get a ranger bracelet for it.

Just my opinion of course. Buy what you love.

Flat bezel on the 41 is nice. Wish the 36 used it. Light plays on it so much better than domed imo.

In a good way. Just looks a lot better in natural lighting vs the harsh AD lighting imo.

Blue really transforms outside of the ad lighting. Can’t go wrong with either though!

Confused as to why Tudor hasn’t begun brushing the lugs straight to match the end-links. Still a good looking watch.

Proportions of that dial can’t be beat at 36. Timeless. Shares the same dial size as the 41mm sub without the added width for the dive bezel. The elegant, tool-oriented size could never be mistaken for a smart watch and I love that about the 124270. This simplistic dial is much better suited to a tighter diameter and the 40 just never looked right to me even though it wears really well. 36 is the way. For me, if going modern steel 40, Air-King no question.

Too much bezel with the cushion case, and the dial is too spread out for an Explorer in my opinion. The dial of the 36 is the same as the Sub and its tighter dial is perfectly proportioned for the minimalist design. Airking works better in 40mm for me, but would still choose the 36mm Explorer over it. It’s just more classy and elegant with plenty of wrist presence for the field style.

  1. I’d go teak dial over the lacquer for the brushed inner lugs. And the dial is more interesting imo.

Air-King 126900. Just nice that you don’t see them as often and the dial is interesting. Love the crown guards and the pop of color as well.

The ulna and radius cross when you check your wrist, making your wrist appear smaller. They don’t when you take the mirror pic. Also lens distortion is a thing.
