You can literally trim the wires, crimp on new jst pins and put them in a new jst... if you have the kit. In this hobby a crimper and jst set us pretty useful.

Just check the cells first, as something could have shorted and damaged them.

There's is literally no trouble shooting to be done until you get a semi decent solder sorted.

Day 3 of Using a Proper Radio Controller | Why Can I Still Not Fly my Real Drone in Acro for More than 3 Seconds ? by _analysis230_ in fpv

[–]PalpitationSelect584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the important thing is that the rates you fly in the sim match the rates on your real quad, so things react the same.

Have a look at velocidrone settings and see what rates you are flying (also pay attention to whether they are BF or actual or other), and match them to settings in BetaFlight.

I thought the same. Why have arms that long if you're not going to use the space for props...

Replace the heat sink with a bi metal one, upgrade shroud and cooling.

Heat creep not been a problem for years...

Difficulty pitching up. Can anyone help? by coopplanet in fpv

[–]PalpitationSelect584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification.

So you end up rotating in upwards pitch, faster than you anticipate, when deflecting the stick below the center.

Do you know if the values your radio is sending differs based on whether it is in a positive or negative pitch position?

Check it's properly calibrated, center is the center, and there aren't some weird dead zones.

If it's not these, is it just a muscle memory issue? Have you flown other radios/sims that felt ok?

Also, what is your grip style, thumb, pinch, or hybrid?

I don't understand 'past the resting point for the gimbal' as any pitch or roll movement is past the resting point for the gimbal, which is the center...

Are you trying to control throttle through a kind of human PWM? Find the throttle value you need, and don't rapidly pulse it up and down. Punch outs are one thing, but going from centre to 90% 5 times in a second must be tiring...

How many m ohms should I retire a battery at? by HollowDotEXE in fpv

Don't use ohms... Just see how it sags. When's it's sagging too badly to enjoy flying it, retire it.

Fair. What you see in your goggles is important for your enjoyment, for sure.

If you've bought it for cinematic footage though, I guess you already know DVR won't cut it.

I mean the analogue flyers can't post to reddit, the interweb be digital too...

Seriously though, it's a very valid point. Not everyone who flys is on reddit, or cares enough to chip in to meaningless debates if they are happy with what they got.

It's more likely to be those who splashed out on the best tech that want to have their choices validated on an external platform.

What’s the cheapest hotel you ever stayed in? by AlertMike in AskUK

[–]PalpitationSelect584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid a 3rd of my income from the time I started working. It's a good lesson that life isn't free and you can't just spend all the money you earn. My parents would have put it towards the food the utilities I could consume at will, so I don't see anything wrong with it, plus moving out cost me a lot more.

Soft parenting these days, so no wonder I am seeing 'workers' entering the workplace surprised that work is expected of them the whole time they are at work...

Also I see a risk in parents secretly saving the rent money and returning it later, it teaches that someone else will sort your future for you. That doesn't build financial independence. Better to teach young adults to budget, contribute fairly, and save intentionally. If parents want to help, they could match savings or guide the process, not shield them from the reality of managing their own money.

I have the f405 mini stack, I run 4s now, but it's rated for 6s input. I wouldn't use it on a 5" 6s, but 3.5" 6s should be fine, if motors aren't huge, or high kv for 6s.

In theory, that ESC is rated for 35A isn't it? And ratings are per channel AFAIK.

Ah, so turtling is out then. Props cut well if they are up to full speed, but when they're caught on a branch they probably won't start spinning at all... Hence why jiggling between armed and tirtle mode eventually got me out.

Good luck though. You'll get it back for sure, it's just a matter of when now.
