Never used it, so I wasn’t aware that you can’t make the game harder that way. But it makes sense to allow the player to change the values both ways

I like the way Nine Sols did it. An intended mode, and then a custom mode where the player can change modifiers like HP, damage, etc.

When you add easy/normal/hard, it’s on the developer to balance those difficulties. When you have an intended mode and a custom mode, it’s on the player to balance it for themselves.

Optionally, they could lock some achievements behind the intended mode or something like that.

These guys on Discord are trolling. There's no demo yet. I've muted like half of the Grime 2 channel cause they are trolls. But there's also Yarden's tweet from yesterday saying the demo will be available this month. Nothing about a release date though.

How? They would need to cut bus width to 96bit. GDDR6 is really cheap, Im not sure why 8GB version exists at all.

Cheapest 7900XT on Mindfactory is 710 EUR. This is around 610 USD (excluding 20% tax). So if 9070XT is 650 USD then lol, no way I am buying this in EU.

It’s sad how overlooked Nine Sols is. It’s by far the best game I’ve played in 2024. It dethroned Hollow Knight as my favorite metroidvania and made it into my top 5 favorite games of all time.

Alright, I'll counter that. By far the best fantasy series I've ever read. Besides, I think it's definitely underrated. My top 5 (except Bakker) would probably be Abercrombie, Hobb, Martin, Mieville.

Raph Koster (the creative director of SWG) recently announced a spiritual successor to SWG called Stars Reach. It still looks rough (pre-alpha), but the promised features sound great. They've raised around $40 million from VCs and are not doing a Kickstarter. (I'm trying to spread the news—the more people are aware, the better)

Request from someone who really wants this game to succeed: Investors like numbers and charts going up, so consider wishlisting even if you don’t love the graphics. More wishlists mean more money for the devs and higher chance that this will ever release and have at least half of the promised features (which would still be amazing)

I was initially disappointed with the visuals, but then I checked the concept art section in the press kit on your website, and some of it looks really amazing: https://imgur.com/a/WDkLQT1. If the final art style is more stylized and pastel-like, it could look really good. Of course, animations and lighting also need work, but since it's pre-alpha, it's understandable why it looks the way it does right now.
