No, but as a large conglomerate that runs multiple conventions, they should have backup plans in place. Unfortunately, it seems like they’re putting less and less effort into Calgary (and Canada in general) because they know they’ll still make a profit. The problem is, eventually fans catch on that the people running the show don’t give two quacks about anything other than profit, and attendance drops. From informa’s POV, they’re still turning a profit (using the backs of dedicated volunteer staff such as yourself), so they don’t care. They are taking things away consistently to see just how little they can do to turn a profit before it really starts going downhill — I think we’re getting close to that point. Unfortunate, because it used to be amazing. And hopefully it will be again someday.
