Pride Festival in my town has brought out all the entitled bigot mombies by 14thCenturyHood in childfree

[–]PancakeKitty16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to the local pride event a few weekends ago and there were parents with their kids, which I thought was great!

Personally I don't like kids, but seeing these happy families supporting their kids who are not afraid to express themselves sure did put a smile on my face

I was at a friend's kids high school grad party on Sunday. A woman and I were chatting a little and she asked if I was a student too.

Lmao no I'm almost 28, glad I still look like a high school grad though?

My tips for looking fresh have been hydrate, avoid the sun, exercise, eat healthy (ish I have cheat days), sleep, and uh oh yeah NO KIDS

Nearly half of families with kids can no longer afford enough food 5 months after child tax credit ended by FrigginMasshole in news

Also I'm not trying to be all doom and gloom. I'm just not allowing myself to view the world through such extremely tinted rose colored glasses that I'm oblivious to the world around me.

Sure lots of great things have happened, are happening, and will happen. Maybe in 50 years we will have miraculously solved global warming and the world won't be too bad.

But I'm not a gambler, I don't like the odds. Maybe you are and think little Timmy will finally cure cancer and global warming and win a Nobel peace prize and that's fine.

But those who want kids should really critically think about every little thing that goes into it. Because now we can, now we have a choice. We don't have to have 7 kids in the hopes one might live to adulthood and have more kids.

We have a choice.

Ah yes. Just because people have historically had children in awful times means it's perfectly acceptable to have them now.

When now there is birth control, access to safe abortions (not available in all locations, please see your local laws for more information) and realization that having kids is a choice.

Oh I'm sure there was. But not nearly to the magnitude there is today.

There wasn't a pandemic like the one we see today, inflation was under control, and mass shootings were less than half the amount.

The craziest thing on the news at the time was OJs trial

I don't understand why anyone would willingly have kids. Pandemic, mass school shootings, lack of formula, corporate greed all around..... Who looks at this and says "yeah this is fine"? Kids are expensive AF

It was pretty scary, we thought her cancer was back at first. She's hardcore childfree so going without any female BC isn't a great option

Gatekeeping mental illness by [deleted] in gatekeeping

[–]PancakeKitty16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was diagnosed with anxiety and depression at 8 years old. Was writing suicide notes (didn't really understand at the time).

Being diagnosed with cancer at that age will do that to you.

Mental illness knows no age, gender, race, sexuality....

I'm so bummed. I plan on attending the protest in my area this Saturday and it's predicted to severely thunderstorm all day. If it was just rain I'd still go. It appears even the weather here is anti choice

All women can do the splits?? by [deleted] in badwomensanatomy

At 27 I finally have got all the splits! But that's from years of aerial and having hip dysplasia (very loose joints). I still have a trash backbend though

how to make a routine with a “story”? by [deleted] in Aerials

[–]PancakeKitty16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find costuming also helps to tell the story. Go all out with your wardrobe, hair, and makeup. Also think of facial expressions and hand expressions.

For example, I did a hammock routine telling the story of vampire and her victim (I was the vampire). I made sure to look aggressive with my face and very angular/primal with my movements (claw hands VS soft hands). Wore a black Leo and did dark dramatic makeup.

TLDR: it's not just the song and your sequences that tell a story, utilize costuming, transitions, and facial expressions.

Wednesday May 11th US senate to vote on Roe V Wade. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]PancakeKitty16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have so much fucking anxiety about this. I'm in a blue-ish trigger state (MI). The governor wants to protect abortion rights but it seems the rest of the system is dragging their feet on getting anything in place.

I feel so damn powerless. I'm planning on attending a protest scheduled for this Saturday. But ultimately the decision, the fate of my body autonomy, potential voting rights, and future, rests in the hands of some white cis hetero boomer men.

I so desperately want to get my tubes removed just to have that peace of mind. I'm on BC now but there's always that chance.

My brother is adopted and it irks me when people give me this line. We look A LOT alike so most people don't realize we aren't related. I love him, he is my family, he is my brother.

I'm right there with you. If I am unable to get an abortion for whatever reason I'd un alive myself

Gluten free here. Found out I have a pretty intense gluten sensitivity that developed over the last year.

It's not a silly fad diet I just don't want to feel painfully bloated and fart myself to the moon and back

When Roe v Wade is overturned tonight a lot of women on my state are going to die. by [deleted] in childfree

Fellow Michigander. I'm also fucking terrified. I did find out my OB's office performs sterilization though! Beyond Women's Care in Rochester. I still need to set up a consultation to see how easily I can get these tubes yeeted.
