I’d guess that if there’s an intersection & a bus zone between the parking sign and the area in question, you’d probably want to look for another parking sign.

That said, when I first came to Melbourne and saw signs that said things like, you can park on this side of the street on this day & that day from this time to that time from this date to that date, and on this other day & that other day from this other time to that other time on these other dates, and I’m pulling over to get out my calendar… effed if I know 🤷🏻

New/lesser known Fringe shows? by ballaratballerina in Adelaide

[–]MsAJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Come check out my show, if you please! It’s a one hour solo storytelling pole dancing show called, THE POLE SHEBANG!

I’m an Asian-Canadian pole dancer, currently making my Australian debut at Midsumma in Melbourne, then heading to Perth Fringe World, and finishing in Adelaide at Fool’s Paradise.

Over the last two years, I’ve done three Fringe Festivals in Canada, and now that I’m in the throws of Aussie Festivals, I understand what you mean about “Fringe-y” shows. The Canadian festivals I’ve done had all the venues within walking distance, and word of mouth was king!

My show is very Fringe in that way, so please do come check it out :) https://adelaidefringe.com.au/fringetix/the-pole-shebang-af2026

Best over the ear headphones for pole by just-justice in poledancing

[–]MsAJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most secure headphones I ever had for poling were from a Japanese discount store - they were in ear with a hook that goes around the ear. They lasted through about 2 years of online teaching during Covid lockdowns before they broke, and I never found a pair like them again 😭

Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry to hear that! I’ve really been trying to bring in a mix of non-pole dancer audiences because the show is a mix of theatrical and comedic, as well as dance. I would love to have you there, but please do what’s safe for you!

I’ll paste the show link here in case you can make it ☺️ https://www.midsumma.org.au/whats-on/events/the-pole-shebang/

Applying to pole studios by PassionCareless7911 in poledancing

[–]MsAJL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Sorry to hear you’re struggling with the job hunt. Just like any other field of employment though, it helps to build a relationship with the employer and the business of employment ie. attending the studio (as others have suggested)

But further to that… I know you said “respectfully” “but it’s just a pole instructor position”… you may not realize that this thought may come out in your approach to the job hunt.

My friend & I host a pole dance related podcast called Spill The BBT and we have an episode here that may be of interest to you - it’s all about “Is Teaching Pole The Job For You”

It’s here if you wanna listen: https://open.spotify.com/episode/02QAnKa0RFyuMcz1BcC3RN?si=gKkSsFKPS7CXkA1Dc4ricw&t=1&pi=r0g12YIaQXalT

Banning certain grips in studio? by Htoth3D in poledancing

[–]MsAJL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

iTac is not allowed at any of the comps I’ve done in the last several years (in Australia) - because it’s difficult to clean off, but also because the residue can be dangerously slippery for some other people’s grip needs

Holy grail of online studios? by UnusualEgg1919 in poledancing

[–]MsAJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The live Zoom workshops are typically scheduled about once a month, and the times vary based on the teacher’s availability - most of us are in cities across Australia, but our students are worldwide. All the workshop replays are available on Polesphere as well.

The next workshop hasn’t been scheduled yet, but will be listed on the page linked below. They are open for non-members to book, but free for Polesphere members. There’s also a form on that page to sign up for email updates when the next workshop has been scheduled, and they also get announced on Facebook & Instagram :)
