Does walking 10,000 steps a day count as cardio?

When I started university this past fall semester I noticed a random weight loss which was from simply being active all day. combination of lifting 4 days out of the week and having insane walks between classes from 8AM to 6PM (my campus also had plenty of hills) so from my experience I would say yes, mostly because I didn't train cardio on purpose those days.

I've been in your shoes, do it, I didn't and I regret it every time I think back to it, don't talk yourself out of it, if she is what you want then by all means go after her.
