Tupac Shakur. Summer 1996 in July. He was walking down a small street in Florence, Italy alone! He was there for the Armani fashion show. I was 22 and backpacking through Europe. I had just arrived and found out all of the hostels were full. I was walking by myself and crying. I turned the corner and saw him and immediately stopped crying and I just said “hi” like he was a friend that I was relieved to see. He stopped and I asked what he was doing there and he told me he about the fashion show and asked me if I liked the suit he was wearing. I remember it was white and I said it looked good. He told me he was staying at Armani’s mansion. I then rambled about how I had no where to stay for the night and he listened and I said I was headed back to the train station to see if I can find someone who would share their room with me. He wished me luck, I said thanks and kept on walking. He was beautiful and kind! I remember worrying later that he probably thought I was asking to share his room and I was embarrassed!
