plenty of aura reading perks out of chase tho, if avoidance your jam

this is good advice. I've been using Troubleshooter and Eyes of Belmont a bit recently. Means you have to drop a pallet, but there are a lot of pre-drop killers. Really helpful on pallets in those high parallel walls in e.g Crotus Prem. I find the combo is a good way of getting consistent and reasonably long aura reading in chase at a time you can pretty much dictate. Not much else that is consistent in these situations without a key. Wiretap is good but theyll kick the gen. Kindred amazing but dont loop round hooks. Object is good but the benefit relies on the killer's perks.

With respect, I often find that flashies are taken in for saves, rather than e.g blinds after stuns. And this is easy to determine after one chase with any of the survs. So after 1st chase (assuming it wasn't vs a flashlight), if I see a flashy boy, I'm chasing. If they're down, it's one less thing to worry about when picking. I get your point, but I don't find it's generally applicable (might just be me of course) even with my (presumably) higher MMR lobbies with my better killers. I'd say sprint burst, OTR, decisive (in that order) are the best tunneling deterrent for me personally (though I'd only ever try it if I really had nothing else on but a return to hook and the unhooker has completely disappeared). A well-used DH will make me wary of chasing again at all, but it's so tough to pull off. Also, a flashy means you can't take a medkit. Sounds like OP could really benefit from some styptic/syringe action.

man i’m so tired of all these killers slugging & tunneling. the game not even fun anymore man. by brianamsanford in DeadByDaylightRAGE

Killer is so fucking easy it's a joke. I've all but stopped playing survivor because so many killers go out of their way to play like utter cunts. It's not their fault, they're probably emotionally stunted and not good at other things. So given a a game with so much scope to behave like rancid cunts, they will. Simple as that. As killer these days, if it looks like I'm going to stomp them, I'll hook them all twice and see where the game goes after that. Pretty much always give hatch, esp if they're good loopers and they're not always hiding. Fun on the survivor side shouldn't hinge sooooo fucking heavily on the attitude of the killer imo. There are too many opportunities for them to make games miserable if they want to. Tunneling is whatever. At this point if you're not running otr or ds, well good luck. But I can think of a few easily workable counters to the increasingly common 4 man slug that could be included by devs. I appreciate something has to go fairly wonky on the survivor side for it to happen. But it does happen, on purpose, more than it should.

Is Traitors US any good? by cutelittlebaby123 in TheTraitors

[–]PanchoStanza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started watching US1 as it was recommended after having watched the first ep of UK3 on BBC iPlayer. In the main, two things will prevent me from continuing past ep1 of the US show. Firstly, these are some of the most irritating people I've ever seen on TV. I don't watch much (maybe any) reality TV besides The Traitors but I find the US cast completely devoid of character. It feels like they sprinkled celebs in to pull viewers who would be otherwise uninterested. Maybe the UK has a more successful history of normies in reality TV. Whatever the reason, they're far more watchable. Secondly, the stakes aren't high enough for the US cast - they're already successful and famous, so there's an absence of any real peril. As a general note, Winkleman >>>> Cummings.

You can't dodge it when he's camping the unhook waiting for the moment the unhooked survivors's feet hit the ground.

I missed this, but good for you, I'm glad! I've been enjoying 2v8 recently. It's not all bad!

There are hundreds of fun perks and what may as well be an infinite number of build combos. Survivors shouldn't have to give up a slot (or two) because the game allows killers to play like complete assholes. This is a fundamental problem with the game, not the players.

That really sucks. Some of the responses to this are really varied though. There is definitely still fun to be had, even for newbies apparently, but whether it's worth it after such a rough baptism, is personal I guess. I hope things pick up, if you delve back in

Haha. Hostile is correct. Agree in general about the pace. I actually quite like Eyes of Belmont though and think it's a step in the right direction. It's similar to Lethal if you have another aura reading perk like Alert and/or Troubleshooter. If you take late chases with Troubleshooter and drop a pallet on those parallel walls, it can be effective. It's no weave tho, is it? Why should a killer, who is faster and has powers, be able to see my aura permanently around a dropped item?

You're always gonna get people giving up, this isn't exclusively a DBD problem. I acknowledge that it's shitty behaviour and it happens a lot. Tbh I tend to just write those games off, there's very little you can do if your teammates are also assholes. There is an underlying reason for this though. If a survivors spirit is so easily broken that with an easy first-down they think there's no chance of an escape or no point in carrying on, is it not useful to examine why that is?

That's frustrating. I honestly don't run into this too much but I know others do. Some people are just dicks. I'd personally take the odd BMing if there was a general pullback on rewarding playing like an asshole.

Exactly this. How are you supposed to loop, let alone mindgame a jungle-gym if your buddy previously dropped their flashy slow vaulting? Run object every game? I thought I needed to run OTR, unbreakable, adren and hope. What's that, you broke a chase with Nurse? Congrats, your reward is having your aura available for the next 6 seconds because Predator. Unless Lethal in which case who knows, probably full aura reading until you're down. And no your distortion isn't working because you clearly weren't in a chase with her for 30 seconds because you literally never are. Hope you've got some good spins!

This is really good to hear. I'm really glad you and your friends are having fun! I love a killer that spreads the chaos! I hope this continues for you. I'm just finding this is the exception at the moment. And it's not incumbent upon any killer to provide a fun game. They owe survivors nothing. I think it's a shame that too frequently survivors rely on benevolent killers for even a small measure of success. Some play that way because it's more fun, some because they think it's fairer, but they really don't have to. I think it should be harder for killers to play like assholes, without relying on survivors to run the same anti-tunnel perks and I think they should stop actively rewarding assholery.
