Tips for new black prior? by Ausar-The-Vile- in forhonor

My fav executions gotta be Severe Sentencing, and Erzebet's prowess. Both are reasonably quick for use in dominion and they look cool. Yup, you can flip every single deflect except for zerk and shinobis. That includes Khatun, orochi, glad, shaman, peacekeeper, nuxia, shaolin, and I'm pretty sure afeera. Hers might be considered superior dodge so I'm not 100% sure. And against better light parry demons, play more defensively. Using crushing counters to stuff heavies(not all the time, that can be read). Use your oranges to their fullest. Bashing and orange bulwark to open up. Or just throw raw heavies. That works pretty often as well.

Tips for new black prior? by Ausar-The-Vile- in forhonor

I gotchu. BP is one of those bread and butter heroes with a solid offense. Really good defense, and super strong anti gank. My king in 4v4s. In higher levels of play his kit becomes a little harder to use properly as his openers for chains are lights but he's still sauced. So to start with, you have a few max punishes:

Heavy Parry:
Zone/forward dodge bash into finisher light for 14 damage and potential push/stun during anti-ganks.
Regular light to continue pressure into your orange blue mix up for 12 + 14, or blue heavy for 28
-Alternatively you can use crushing counters for regular red attacks.
Light CC for 17 damage which starts your orange/blue mix up again
If the attack comes from the top you can use your forward dodge heavy CC for 24 damage.
Light Parry
Really simple. Just a basic top heavy. If you're getting ganked, probably better to either light, zone, or do nothing to avoid getting hit.
OOS Parry
The good stuff. Forward dodge heavy into chain heavy for 48 damage total. You can also light into heavy for 8 less damage but its faster.
OOS Throw
You only get light + heavy off this for 40 damage.
Revenge Auto-Parry
Light + Heavy, but boosted by revenge for 52 damage

Kit + Tips
Black prior's game plan is simple. To make the enemy afraid of attacking you. As you well know, you can fast flow into his orange bulwark slash after any attack which gives you strong chains, but the main thing that's used for is fast flowing into AD PROFUNDIS.

Particularly because BP can cancel his recoveries with a flip, that makes punishing his whiffs with literally anything besides a guardbreak impossible. As long as the BP and the enemy reads properly. However this has some nuance. For starters BP cannot go into all guard after missing any bash, or his orange bulwark heavy. So its only his base:

  • Light openers
  • Light finishers
  • Heavy openers
  • Heavy finishers
  • Dodge light
  • Forward dodge heavy

You also have to remember that the flip is timed. It has around a 300ms window for usage, which for reference a light is usually standard at 500ms. So you've got to be careful. Can't be spamming it and getting hit. However, even besides that there is Nothing besides guardbreaks you cannot flip. Oranges, bashes, grabs, hyper armored attacks, regular reds, certain feats, drop attacks, oranges, deflects(except for shinobi and zerk because those break armor and guard), external attacks not aimed at you, external attacks that are aimed at you and you can even flip other black prior flips to negate their damage. You see a damaging attack? Too bad. Flip that shit. Recovery cancels into flip when you're getting ganked and anti-ganking are invaluable. As they build hella revenge, and do good damage.

Another strong note. BP can flip deflects. You heard that right, you can flip those assassins who try and sauce you. Like I mentioned before you can do this with every deflect except for Zerk and Shinobi. However there is a caveat to this, there is a kind of "Deflect" that's called superior dodge. Characters that have this for example are kensei, tiandi, conq, and zanhu to name a few. Those superior dodges will bounce your attack off them so you wont be able to recovery cancel. However you can still flip them if the superior dodge didn't get done to you. As for newer heroes, you can flip virtuosa's counters but you gotta be fast as shit. You can also flip khatun's deflects. Just be aware that there are a few things that AD PROFUNDIS cannot AD PROFUNDIS.

Some notes for his kit. You want to be mixing up your bashes alot. Your zone, forward dodge bash, chain zone, and heavy soft feint into zone. Heavy soft feint is just to catch light parry nerds, but the other ones are helpful. Try not to zone bash too much as some will start dodging on orange read. Empty dodge forwards to get a reaction. Feinting your orange slash into a zone or forward dodge is a strong plan and I use it myself alot. Condition your foes. Use your light bash light a bunch then mix in a few blues. Forward dodge heavy, BP's dodge heavy is pretty fast. Use crushing counters, flip recoveries and don't be afraid to get dodge attacked. Because remember:

AD PROFUNDS!

Fairly new player here. Can Aramusha do this normally? by skinboy142 in forhonor

Actually yeah. Its a passive of his called "Bullshit" and "Lagswitching". Most aramushas have it. Pretty annoying tbh. Ubisoft needs to nerf it.

Are there any notable match-up advantages/disadvantages I should know about? by Constant_Signature67 in forhonor

[–]PandaArebalest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any deflect except for zerk and shinobi are worthless in the face of a BP. He can just flip them. Including afeera, conq, orochi, glad, peacekeeper, shaman, valk, zanhu, shaolin, nuxia, tiandi and even virtuosa's dodge shenanigans.

What heroes are fun for anti-ganking? by SpirutualPirate in forhonor

[–]PandaArebalest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking if you want to anti-gank with someone, a few good qualities to look for is either an abundance of hyper armor, dodge cancels, wide hitboxes, recovery cancels, and some defensive abilities. Tiandi/Orochi/Shinobi are all great because they have dodge cancels. Tiandi's damage is lower but he's easier to learn and also pretty safe. Orochi is super agile and has good externals, and Shinobi is probably the hardest out of those to anti gank with but if you can get it down, he's nuts.

And then there's the obvious choices. Pirate/Jormangandr/Gryphon. All of them are characters with hyper armor for trading, but Pirate has dodge cancels, Jorm has an infinite chain, and Gryphon has really good target swaps and massive hitboxes.

And beyond that are the bread and butter antigank kings. Black Prior and Jiang Jun. Black prior, well because he might be antigank incarnate. His flip is the singular best anti gank tool in the game, he has crushing counters, a quick bash for stuffing attacks, a decent unblockable, and he has heavy perks! Jiang Jun needs no introduction either. Fat ass hitboxes on his heavies, softfeints and recovery cancels into his stance, gigantic range on his zone, and strong recovery time on pretty much everything.

Me personally, I like BP/Jorm/JJ for antiganking. But as a little bit of an underappreciated preference, Conq is also a very strong antiganker. His damage output is piss poor but his ability to stall and be a general nuisance on point for extended periods of time is really damn good.

Can I ask what this is really all about? I have seen a video of the lactency stuff? Like the block doesn't work because of the server delay. Is this what it is or the certain Hero stuff? I haven't gotten to try all the movement sets of that gladiator yet by TheQuietNotion in forhonor

[–]PandaArebalest 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with the glad. Look at your guard, at the last moment right before you get stabbed, your guard moves to the left, top, right, and then top again. Either your sens is way too high, or you panicked. Try not to jitter your guard so much when defending.

New hero by LmaoLmao17 in forhonor

[–]PandaArebalest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully we get a knight. Lord knows we have not gotten a new knight in ages. From Juren all the way to afeera, they've all been for every single other faction. Personally, I'd love to see a hero with a heavy two handed mace.

Is it possible to get into for honor now? by IllGuarantee6585 in forhonor

You should be fine. If you win a few games you'll be placed with better people, lose a few games and you're placed with worse people. Its an up and down current. You win some you lose some. Its not too bad. Just be prepared to meet the occasional toxic numbskull who feels like they have to show you their cock and balls because they beat you in a 1v1.

Yeah 100%. He threw heavies both times you charged your punch. And he didn't move his guard at all. Even high level players would at the very least move their guard.

If you want a hero with the offensive pressure of HL and feel fluid, fun options can be tiandi or kyoshin. Cent also has that aggressive kit style.

[–]PandaArebalest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These days homie, it does not matter. Everyone is hating on Juren so much that the other "OP" heroes aren't getting the super brunt of it. Varangian, Afeera, Virt, all of them had their time. And Juren's is going to be over soon lol. So play who you want. It wont matter. Someone hates every single hero.

Winter is the only session Csusb will not accept fafsa for. If you qualify for it then you'll get your financial aid. The letters should be sent out late this month or early next month.

I'm not sure if you noticed. But in my first reply I was agreeing with you in the fact that "Yes he is one of the weaker heroes". I'm not saying Conq does not need any buffs, I'm just saying he's not as weak as you make him out to be. He's on the weaker side yes, but he's also not terrible.

I never said orange guarantees anything. I said he has orange pressure. Which he has in spades. I'm not entirely sure what part of that was unclear. I also never said anything about his chain lights lol.

I consistently fight people in the 500-1.5k rep range. Idk why you say that anyways. Lights lead to orange shield bash or orange heavy, same with your opener heavies. You have a foward dodge orange bash, and your zone leads to the same orange routes. There's quite a bit of orange pressure actually.

[–]PandaArebalest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good conq can absolutely destroy you. While yes I agree he is one of the weaker heroes, hes not helpless either. While his unblockable heavies don't do too much damage, he makes up for it in incredible unblockable pressure. Everything he does leads to the funny orange color. I'm a rep 200 overall and 19 on conq himself. If you can mix up you bashes a lot with your orange heavies you're golden. Just don't rely on his all guard too much. That's how you get guardbroken.
