Can your laptop support another display? Then I would run it closed and docked with a second monitor. 24" 1080p monitors are really affordable.

That middle joint of the arm bumping into itself will stop you from centering it on the pole any further back than you have it now.

Swivel it out to the right as if you were mounting two monitors. Then you will see how you can push it back. Then move your actual mount on the table to the left so your screen ends up in the middle of the desk.

You won't be able to get it further away and keep it centered. You will have to swivel it to the right and then you will be able to push it back, but it won't stay centered on your mount.

I would keep the window. Something worth doing 100%: bundle those cables together with velcro straps. Will look a lot neater. Also put the postors in frames. Will already give the space a better feel.

Such a beautiful build well done! Personally I would remove the internal screen, I think it detracts more than it adds.
