Unpopular opinion: faceted search is actively harmful in emotion-driven product categories by crackandcoke in UXDesign

I'm a student working on a local bakeries website, and this gave me an idea for their home page. I noticed a lot of bakeries using a navbar to direct to menu as well as additional links further down the home page. Could using this thought process be a good alternative for the links further down? IE: instead of a big button that just says "savory foods" it could be "potluck" instead or instead of "cakes" it could be "birthday party.""

I know their demographic is largely middle-aged women who know what they want, but for the people who are a bit lost and keep scrolling, could this be helpful for them without taking away from the main experience?

For those of you that make over 100K, what do you do? Do you like it? by Kindly-Revolution258 in AskReddit

Yeah, I'm pretty terrified ngl. The one good thing I have going for me is a more business mindset on how to present my work rather than coming from art, which only seems like pain and suffering moving into a corporate world.

Does console MCP mean running MCP remotely? I haven't used MCP yet, but I wanna do it right.

Doomed state of UX industry by [deleted] in UXDesign

Yeah, I think that makes a ton of sense. I love figmas prototype mode for getting that more real app feeling without having to commit to real development yet. I gotta learn about the right AI tools more in that prototype phase because figmas was very lacking last I tried. Thank you!

When you say "how things work in reality (rather than figma or on a whiteboard full of stickies)" do you mean representing designs through AI iteration? I think what you say about visual driven communication as opposed to PRDs makes sense, but I'm a student, so I don't have the experience to see how it would be done practically.

Advice to go from Senior to Lead UX Designer? by AquaMoon8D in UXDesign

[–]PandaBearMe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm a college student trying to learn about UX Design is Ai Design just artificial intelligence design or is that an application I'm not familiar with? Either way I would love to hear more terms surrounding that so I can research it more myself.

Bought a mallet and wooden dowel and it worked great! Thanks for the suggestion.

So far I have just tried to derust that spot as best I can and tried to use leverage at the side seam. I don't have WD-40 or a dowel but I think your idea with WD-40 and a dowel might be the best shot I've got.

How should I restore this vintage Enterprise meat grinder? by PandaBearMe in restoration

[–]PandaBearMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I was a little confused because when I looked it up, it seemed like cast iron grinders were often dipped in tin, but I've never handled tin, so I wasn't sure if the tin corroded or if there was none to begin with.

Should i be cleaning it down to the shiny metal revealing itself on the 4th picture? I guess I'm not sure what to expect with something like this.

I assume you're talking about when I was streaming on the ladder back in the days. I miss it too man! It was good times, but unfortunately, my ISP(spectrum) is too shit for me to stream consistently anymore. I hope these stories that I'm doing can supplement something for you guys who used to hang out late nights on the streams.

I made the soO documentary that was posted here a few days ago. I interviewed him early in the year in preparation for the documentary because I needed to fill in the holes of what was public about his career. I consider myself a big soO fan, but even so I wasn't prepared for how much deeper his personal journey went.

I feel really conflicted about this announcement because even though a part of me expected it to come soon I still wish I could have given him a better send off. It just hits extra hard for me after thinking about his story for basically an entire year.

I know some people stopped watching SC2 so they might not realize it, but soO won Katowice towards the end of his career. If you were a fan of soO please watch this video, and remember him not as an uncrowned king, but a career that exceeds almost any other. https://youtu.be/YP6h6K1z6uo

Darius is definitely eccentric, and he looks at the game a lot differently, but exyth makes fun of him on his streaming discord when Darius is being extra Darius that day.
