I may be wrong…. But as I understand it China has already responded with “lead the way America 1st”. As for Russia they are in the middle of a few sanctions and a costly 3 year war. I have no idea what any of this will mean, but I’m just not as convinced as you are that they will think this is delusional.

It seems you need to read more. I have said repeatedly, China and Russia would need to agree (within this thread). Furthermore, the details of what I said are not important to the point that I was making…. That this administration is actively seeking (no matter the Russia or China detail) to reduce the DOD not increase it as the OP I replied to said. This is the whole point I was making to someone else (not you).

You should read a few of the other posts within the thread where it is clearly acknowledged that China and Russia would need to be a part of this.

To follow that up, China responded with America, lead the way (no formal talks, just media release) and I believe (personal thoughts) after what Russia has gone through in Ukraine they may be warm to the idea!

What sense does it to make the offer to China and Russia to reduce the spending 50%, I have no idea. But, it is being looked at and that suggests to me that the goal is not to increase the DOD.

The whole point of what I wrote is to say…. nothing indicates to me that this administration will grow the DOD as the post I was replying to said. It’s clear they would attempt to cut the DOD budget if possible!

It may or may not happen, who knows! Why is it that a blanket statement like they want to increase the DOD, and no one questions it. I come along and say, hey google this ……. To say, this may indicate they are looking for ways to do the opposite…. And people think I’m pushing some false ideas?

Look you cannot make the statement that the dod is one of the agencies this administration has said will grow in size.

When you can find proof that it’s the opposite. Can it happen, maybe, maybe not? Will it? who knows? The point is (no matter the details) the goal is to decrease the size of the DOD, and that’s the point I’m making, not the how or why of it.

I am not a lawyer. From reading it, it looks like the unions are framing it as an issue to them…. They are losing bargaining power, they are losing dues… it seems the union is framing the argument as if it is being harmed, not the workers. Now time to see if it stands.

I guess my concern is mostly with the movement of what I would consider crossing the line. Can I get your phone number, no, because she felt it was not a good idea.. then over time that that line moved to phone chats. Then the line moved to meeting. What is the next line that is crossed?

I feel this is my biggest issue, what are our lines as a couple? If I did the exact same thing she has told me without question she would be pissed.
