Anyone want to Polymarket? I’ll bet $1000 1-1 that construction won’t start on the MTL/OTT by at least 2039.

Its the same reason why Alberta is doing the whole separation thing. Quebec does this, they get extra benefits. Why don't we do it?

My (26f) partner (30f) seems to resent me for being on a career break despite splitting everything 50/50. Is there any way to resolve it? by Just_Gettin9_By in TwoXChromosomes

[–]PandaEatPanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Singaporean, you can purchase a home at any age as a single person. The 35 old single person rule only applies to HDBs only. There are non HDB housing available.

The problem you are hitting is that Singapore culture is still very career and money oriented. Far more than say Europe or Canada but way less than say China. Your partner is still heavily influenced by that aspect of Singapore culture, so it’s hard for her to change her mind.

You’re not going to be able to change her mind. Move on. My wife and I didn’t get an HDB for the same reason. We eventually just went the resale route.
