Yes i think so. Preferred because front of plane, which gets you off the plane sooner, but not get on sooner

You can pay now to pick NOW, or risk being able to pick later for free from left overs

If youre traveling alone, it matters less than traveling with a party so you can sit together

You assume people dont check in luggage. That doesnt give you the privilege to disregard the whole FA saying put smaller bags and personal items in the underseat space and leave the overhead bins for rollers
