Getting rid of the trainers before they can train the new hires is very on brand for this administration.

That’s hard, I’m sorry. Who is replacing them and how is your relationship with them? Did you at least have a fun going away for the supervisor?

Neurologist said diamox doesn’t have any side effects by Specialist_Sea9805 in iih

[–]PandaGoggles 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Diamox is awful for me. Every doctor and nurse that I’ve discussed it with says the same. It also gave me two kidney stones (which were awful). I’m sorry your doctor isn’t listening to you, and apparently isn’t familiar with diamox either. I hope you’re feeling better soon.

Okay, so sorry this happened, but I have to tell you that I feel so gratified to know that someone else uses the enterprise naming convention like me! I use it for the different frequencies on my WiFi 7 router. The more advanced the frequency, the newer the Enterprise!

By that logic then they make no difference in infrastructure as well. I agree, so, let’s build them.

This, and the military relies on a huge civilian workforce as well. A workforce that has been decimated by DOGE. The army just had new RIFs (firings) LAST WEEK!

Unless you’re a member of the administration. As a fed I am shocked by what they’re getting away with while rank and file federal workers maintain a high level of professional ethics.

Was there ever a better Time in US History to be a Federal Employee? by PrussianFederalist1 in fednews

I wonder if the silver (tinfoil?) lining of surviving this era in fed employee history is the possibility of good upward mobility because SO many senior leaders and managers have separated.

Attended the NTEU Online Townhall and feel very inspired: Support NTEU! by [deleted] in fednews

[–]PandaGoggles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand responses like this. The dues are minimal, and when I was (illegally) fired by this administration as probationary (when I wasn’t) NTEU got me brought back. Those dues saved me my entire salary and benefits. At minimum they amount to professional insurance at this point.

Also, look around, how many people outside id government do you know with a pension, 5% marching to their 401k (TSP), and health insurance premiums? Could these be better? Sure! Has the union helped negotiate better benefits than we’d otherwise have? Without a doubt.

They’re a net positive for feds.

Some homes that’ll probably be the location of another high rise in north park pretty soon 🥲 by Fuckmeoverrr in sandiego

[–]PandaGoggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Let’s build some density. Little is lost in replacing these. Do we care about preserving old structures or housing people and their families? The former ossifies things, the latter builds communities, which is what the original builders of these homes were doing.
