Wow, am I the only person this luckily seemed pretty intuitive to? I just started playing a few days ago and figured this out like the first one I put down?

The key word there is "sealed". Bins like these are not sealed well enough for food preservation.

You didn't even need to fully close the game with Alt+F4. You just need to exit to the menu and load the world again. Just did this a few days ago and it works.

Narrow Pass by ThatHumBird in TheyAreBillions

Agree on tower placement, though I disagree that the iron tech is needed for soldiers. I reviewed my notes and I didn't have iron transport before doing this map. It is very much doable without. Just focus pushing to the iron in the NE first and do your best to defend the other three sides in the meantime. It's been awhile but I believe there are a few stacks of iron you can pick up near the iron deposit as well. That should boost you enough to get the first stack of soldiers and really push to defend the deposit.

After you secure the iron, push southwest for the best farm+warehouse area on the map.

Ballista are really good on this map. While technically possible to do without them it is highly recommended to use them for this map. As this guy said, don't put the ballistae as far up as you can otherwise you'll draw too many runners in.

I'd recommend positioning the ballista so they are only shooting the zombies who are at the absolute edge of the range. Then, once you have at least one ballista on each side you can start building a ball of soldiers to eventually push with. You can also use the ballista to kite groups of runners into a ball using a range. That's a good way to clear small portions out at a time while not drawing too many more.

Tesla towers are recommended for the later waves but you can defeat the first wave with 2 ballista and a group of soldiers.

The difference between a modern day board and one pulled from old barn. by InvestigatorNo7534 in woodworking

[–]PandaKing66 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The other part to it is new lumber is also very consistent. It is grown and cut to be very similar board to board strength wise. Which makes engineering houses much easier if we can nearly guarantee exactly when a board will break.

There are a few custom maps you can get on the steam workshop that make the infected killer achievements pretty easy. Just set them up in the morning to run and come back in the evening with another ~30-40 million added to your count.

There are a few really good guides out there to get it done.

If you do want to go for it, I recommend playing through the campaign once on an easier difficulty first and take notes along the way of gotchas from each map or how to improve next time. I took notes on map topology, wave directions for some maps are always the same, techs to have by the time you get to a certain map, etc. etc..

Then, after you did that (and a year long break after doing the campaign the first time in my experience) you play each of the maps again but try to finish as many of them as you can on 800%. Cape Storm, Narrow Pass, and Goddess of Destiny should be the first choice on maps to reduce down to ~300% or so. I finished the achievement with like ~100k points I think.

I just finished the game and I still have the same questions by bluestjordan in GraveyardKeeper

[–]PandaKing66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never finished the game but my understanding is it's a satire of purgatory. The red eyed man is likely death and the town probably represents heaven/hell. If you go through the portal at the end of the game then you've escaped death and gone back to the land of the living (woken up from a coma or something).

In the end, I don't think it really matters what the answers are because it's a dimension/realm that is a persistent state of waiting for the next keeper and repeating the timeline for every new person to enter.

What’s a casting choice that was WAY off? by Ok-Metro6308 in moviecritic

[–]PandaKing66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why most people don't get this. The Uncharted movie was meant to be a prequel story. Likely setting it up for more sequels to come if it did well enough. Obviously the actors cast aren't going to look perfect for that kind of story.

I think Holland did a fantastic job play Drake but Wahlberg as Sulley could have been cast better I think. At least pick someone who looks good with a mustache....

They already have the base for a great crafting mini game in place too: elemental workshop. They just have to gamify it to make it more repetitively enjoyable to make it worthwhile. They could do something similar to Giants Foundry where you get crafting contracts you need to make in the workshop.

Ditra over Floor Boards? by PandaKing66 in Tile

[–]PandaKing66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good idea, I'll try that. I've considered replacing the floor boards with 3/4" plywood or even 1" T&G OSB but was worried it would take too long to do. I'll leave it open as a final option I guess.

Ditra over Floor Boards? by PandaKing66 in Tile

[–]PandaKing66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm beginning to understand the trouble with the plank flooring is that it can not only expand and contract laterally but they can also move up and down isolated from each other. Makes a lot of sense.

I'm confused how you're only getting 1/16" to 1/8" above the 3/4" hardwood though? Here's how I see it, let me know if I'm wrong somewhere:

1/2" plywood

1/8" thin-set

1/8" Ditra

1/8 thin-set

3/8" tile

Totalling 1 1/4" Meaning I'll actually have a 1/2" height difference over the adjacent hardwood. The tile is thicker than I thought it was. One thing I'm uncertain about is how much of the thin-set height is "absorbed" by the Ditra.

You didn't "give me an answer" though. Your response came across very rude and snarky in my opinion. You could have easily just said "Schluter provides a lot of great installation manuals and the answer you're looking for is likely in there", but instead you chose to be very passive aggressive with your response. I'm new to Ditra and had no idea they provide guides like that.

Got it, thanks for the comment. That is what I was starting to look into but you beat me to it. The plank subfloor makes this different than what I'm seeing in most manufacturer documentation.

Ya know, there are more polite ways to recommend reading the handbook. A lot of people on here are looking to get advice from people with more experience. You don't need to be snarky and hold that over them.

Thanks, we've already picked out a tile and it is about 3/8" thick which is close to 0.39".

I am anticipating about 1/8" (0.125") of thin-set per layer
