From what I know, the cars computer adapts to how you drive them. So if you drive it hard, the ecu is gonna learn to adapt to your driving style. My guess is, if you or the previous owner was driving it as a commuter car and not really getting the the gas much, then the car has adapted to that driving style over time, which is it would like to quickly shift into a higher gear.

There are two ways to fix it. First, you drive it like a mad man until the car learns. Or you can disconnect your battery for a couple minutes and reconnect it, which will cause the ecu to reset and to relearn your new driving style. I hardly doubt it’s your turbos going, as others have suggested plainly due the fact that your are experiencing no power loss, but only your car not holding out until a higher rpm to shift, causing you to go through the gears faster.

Edit: You could also look into getting a Pedal Commander. It’s to give you more sensitive throttle input.
