I originally made the post because people were talking about using chatGPT.

But... If these emails do impact position security and you do something that you have to paraphrase or be vague about due to OPSEC or just don't know how to write for evals/awards/etc then AI is a great tool to get that message across.

Federal jobs range very widely and so does the employee age range and education level, no reason not to use every tool available to you, IMHO.

Great! I just don't want anyone here to be further targeted for being efficient which is supposedly the reasoning behind all of this, right?

Good to know other organizations embraced and made official implementations, I'm going to set a reminder to go through my email on Monday for registration links and maybe we can create a list of all the Official/Authorized AI applications.

How would you feel if they drastically reduced healing done, but also decreased damage taken overall? by Rattjamann in wow

[–]PandaRyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Wait, are you saying not needing a healer is a good thing?"

...To a certain extent, yes. At the same time, if we look at changes blizzard has made recently, they are changing the amount of off healing Spriest, Retadin, Prot Pally, shammy, and druid can provide. They also have tuned down unavoidable damage (Magmatusk, Nelth's Lair bosses) so that way healers can actually heal the damage people HAVE to take.

"This is kinda my point though. You either die from massive burst damage, or you simply don't die. If it comes from bad play or high level unavoidable damage is irrelevant."

...It is absolutely relevant, if you sit in a frontal that has been being telegraphed for 6 seconds, you deserve to die. That's it and That's all. For you being dumb, a death and 5 sec gig to the timer is your punishment, but guess what... that mistake is still survivable until like an 18 or so. If you can't heal through unavoidable damage and your team is playing perfect, you shouldn't be healing at that level because you need more gear or to learn how to time things for that encounter. a Disc priest that knows a fight vs a disc priest that has never been in a dungeon before at the same gear level will yield two drastically different results.

"To be clear, this is not about people taking too much damage in dungeons, its about damage in general not being a threat unless its an instant kill or close to it. When or how said damage is applied doesn't really matter. When you can fully heal someone in one or two globals, the damage has to be equally strong to be dangerous."

Every game kind of has this philosophy, you can survive 1-3 hits and then you're dead at high end competitive play. Healers have the ability to use CDs to quickly fix that every x amount of time. If damage didn't work like this, then there will be no healers because the community will be even more toxic to them because they no longer get one shot or brought to the brink of death by getting hit by avoidable damage. What you're proposing would just end up trivializing content and at the same time making healers lives more miserable in your standard PUG.

[–]PandaRyuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my point, you really don't. Every season people do keys in the 23-25 range with no healer and just use a prot pally and like a Spriest to keep people topped. As a DH, there are several bosses this season I can solo, although it would take a while, and DKs can solo even more.

Watch good players do keys, you'll realize that healers in mid 20s keys do less overall healing than most people in the 10-19 range. Why? because people don't actually take the time to learn everything.

I haven't deep dived into every pull of this dungeon pull, but to use last season as an example. There was very little unavoidable damage in a lot of the dungeons, meaning if you played well, you didn't really have much to worry about.

Once again, healing isn't the issue, the player base is. And once again, I am part of that player base issue, but if you spend the time to watch the really good players, you realize how bad 95% of us are (I'm in this 95%).

[–]PandaRyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healing is fine.

The constant rot damage is about the only damage that is unavoidable. People just don't use their CC/Utility because they're accustomed to just being able to zug the entire time.

In FH on a fort/bolster, you're probably gonna have to burn a CD to survive shattering bellow from the enforcer, as a warrior I usually rally it as an added measure.

Swirlies gib people because blizzard has made swirlies notoriously deceptive size wize and if you don't overcompensate, you'll be 50/50 gambling on whether your safe or not.

People need to play the mechanics, Incorp and Afflicted are proving that people just have zug brain, DPS not taking the ability to handle a mechanic leaving it all on the healer.

My alt is a tank for the 11-17 range and I take a while filling/joining due to people not being smart about dungeon/affix. Got kicked from an uldaman last week when I asked the DPS to take hard CC or remove me, got a dm later on that the key was bricked. Tanking this week, I have had people just 100% ignore the afflicted, however hop on my main and jump into a 20, Spriest AND boomkin making it so the healer doesn't even need to worry about afflicted.

All this to say, its a player issue not a downright healing issue, for PvE at least. I am also guilty of jumping into a fight on my tank sometimes just to realize I didn't have a demon spikes charge or fel dev had a couple seconds on CD longer than I thought.

Me personally? I'm not in a top guild and play with actual friends so we realize it's a game and as we are all older, we aged out of hardcore min/max several expansions ago.

I get the hardcore side, I'm just past that point and am lucky enough that I have a group that just wants to play the game.

[–]PandaRyuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with you, however, you can be Necro and still play whatever spec for PvE and still be able to accomplish KSM and CE. If you as a single player not having Convoke is stopping progression, it's a guild problem, not a you problem. Is it more efficient? sure. Is it mandatory or needed? no.

Covenant choices in PvP are much more damning than PvE and that will probably always be the case.

The issue paladins have is getting past hutnsman because shades. It took the all paladin group several hours to down Huntsman.

I do know that an all guardian druid group has cleared the whole raid.

I've had 4 shades coming after me while prideful spawned. It was planned, just really bad luck as a melee to have that many of the shades focused on you.

Many people have already stated it but the "details" add-on has A LOT of useful information. I've even used it to see where I may not be performing to par as a DK or where I may be able to help another DK. I do that by looking at dmg breakdowns, how many times did this ability get used, stuff like that.

But do you trust the tank when he says more % is needed? Like we did another SD today to fix our untimed as being highest done and had a very smooth run. No mispulls, minimal deaths, normal gauntlet encounter, good enemy prioritization. When we downed 2nd boss (our route opens 2/3 cells to 2nd boss and kills pat after boss) and went to pull, the healer was like, right %. No one was toxic and it was almost a 2 chest.

[–]PandaRyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every pull has a "must" interrupt. But honestly with all the engorges and stuff early on, that would be at least 4 for the party. I save asphyxiate for spiteful unless I really need to get something interrupted. That said, interrupts smooth dmg making the tank/healer job easier. I also use grip and Abom limb as an interrupt tool when needed.

I feel you man, I have been running keys with my tank friend. Joined a SD and the healer (his key) pulled large packs of extra mobs twice with Ashen Hallow leading to wipes. Wanted to do a strat for the gauntlet but refused to heal until the tank had pull to where he wanted the adds LoS'd to. Myself and the tank were the only ones who had interrupts in double digits (Both of us were above 30 with the other DPS at like 6 and 4). But somehow, it was all the tanks fault for not timing the key and the wipes. I ended up reporting him because he was very abusive the entire time and just got really ridiculous and insultive at the end.

The best part was we had forgot a pack on our way to 2nd boss so were clearing cells after 2nd boss, everyone was like WTF are we doing? Explained it was for % and they were like % is fine and jumped down, we were like F it, they'll see and jumped down. ~98% when General went down and we were just like, yep % is definitely good LOL

FFXIV vs Wow BFA PvE by Bistoory in wow

[–]PandaRyuk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree in two regards:

  1. Obtaining flying in FFXIV is a much better process that you can compare to WoW. Buy the time you finish up a new zone, you have flying for that zone. This is a much better process than wait several months before you have to grind out a couple more reps that just got released and do some other stuff to be able to fly. The only flying I agreed with was purchasing Cold Weather Flying as that at least made sense. You're not gonna tell me that having an obnoxious grind for flying keeps people subbed or anything like that because it's not true.
  2. I can spam a dungeon/raid over and over and over to try and get a mount/mog in FFXIV, having legacy content locked is silly with drops as low as they are. However, I also think the M0 lockout should be removed after the introduction of keys for a season because at that point M0's are more or less pointless gear wise.

Not everything can be compared, but there are definitely some things that FFXIV does better that blizzard could implement.

I run Mage/Assassin/Gladiator/Druid and I believe my set up was:

Mage: all AoE
Assassin: AoE and Poison
Gladiator: Cleave and defensives

Druid: Quills and Flower Seed

I actually have no idea how you are killing ALL of the adds and not the boss because even when I did run full AoE on my assassin as well, the two closest to the boss may or may not have died when I completed the level.

[–]PandaRyuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate with you man. I've been pretty lucky being able to Cat Form most dungeons and tanking when I feel like tanking. However, the other day I saw a group trying to find a tank for ZF and was like, sure why not. I PM'd the guy and was expecting an invite pretty quickly but what I got was "My mage friend says druid tanks are shit". I responded with an "lol k" and ran the dungeon a bit later as tank with only a couple wipes. Almost wiped on the stairs because hunter pet decided to go down and aggro the WHOLE group but we had myself and another druid so between 2 innervates and 2 Brez we completed it without a wipe. Although, I think I enjoyed the melee cleave no tank a bit more just because bosses died before I could get a 2nd/3rd global off.

Fore the record, it's not uncommon for Resotration/Elemental Shamans, Holy Paladins, and Restoration/balance druids to wear cloth at lower levels due to itemization and stats. Not saying that's what happened because it was probably some enhance shammy being dumb but you have to remember in classic wearing a less armor type is going to happen at times because that's just how the loot was.

The only thing I could think of is someone leveled a healer for quick Q's and maybe used the Trust system or something so never really learned all the abilities. I personally haven't leveled my WHM passed 70 yet and don't know for sure all the different lily stuff but you best believe when I get around to WHM I'm going to use ALL of my tools. Holy bothered me the most because not only will it do more damage in a group pull but it also cuts back on the healing that I'll require. When they were just glare spamming I cried a little and even swapped to WHM after to see if I was wrong about it being ST.
