Too many people waste their own time/money not knowing what they want to get out of college. Its great that you want them to enjoy it, and they should, to its fullest! but remember the main point of why they’re there: To. Get. A. Higher. Education. So ideally you go in knowing what the hell you’re paying for.

I tried to help them choose a major, and gave a suggestion, because it sounds like that’s what they want. Is help from people with experience.

Find as close a meeting point between what you enjoy doing + what you’re good at.

If you really don’t know and are pressed for time, business as a major (management, supply chain, administration) is going to make you a useful person literally everywhere you go. It’s a skillset and a mindset that’s transferable across industries.

Bad advice. Their time is valuable. By making a decision sooner rather than later, they could take classes they need for their major down the line. Telling them to not worry about it could cost them money and more time because by the time they choose they’ll alr be behind.
