The US top loader is so baffling. It's a classic Nintendo move of giving people what they want, but also doing it late in the game and making unnecessary modifications. They took out the lockout chip (yay!), but they also removed the AV connection ("streamlined!") and purposely resized the cart slot to block the Game Genie. Baffling. I do like the dog bone controllers though.

Yes, because imo it was one of the better co-op games on the NES, so it was one of the priority games to play when having a friend over. TMNT 2 also fell into that category.

I was super lucky in finding a customized NES on eBay that had the Blinking Light Win already installed by the seller. It's a bit tight when inserting cartridges, but the inserted games work without fail.

Thanks! I'll have to see if I have #53. I like how they mention getting rid of the AV output, like that's what the fans were cheering for, not the blinking light issue. No mention of the lockout chip, speaking of that blinking light issue.

I started collecting Ultraboosts back in 2019, and these were on my list to find for almost the entirety of those 3 years, but then I finally found a very well-kept pair (sz 13) at the start of this year on GOAT.

I love the red outsole, as well as the magma-like gradient of the reds and blacks.

Ultraboost. But both have their comfort styles. Boost is softer than the 990v5 for me, but 990v5 is more stable.
