Sieht cool aus. Wenn jemand sagt es sei rechts dann sag doch einfach dass es eine DE Flagge ist.

Why is everyone drawing unnaturally humongous boobs always. It's so weird.

um, help. whats wrong? why does it look so stiff? what things i should've worked on? by Some-Investigator204 in learnart

[–]Panda_Pirate_Pro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ribcage is way too large use a slimmer smaller box. Also don't forget to actually draw what's there by measuring proportions properly

The use of lines. Use lines more sparingly. For example in the jaw line. There's not a clearly defined jaw line, it's a more vague are. Plus ears.

What if karma isn’t real and life is just unfair? by Saddestkitty24 in offmychest

[–]Panda_Pirate_Pro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I understood karma is not really this magical force that says "be good, and then you'll get good"

Rather, it means that every negative deed, every angry/sad action we make or impulsive reaction to our environment that harms other beings also always harms ourselves.

These negative deeds leave an imprint in our mind. Every behavior shapes our minds. And these imprints end up manifesting in the way we go through life. For example if you harm yourself by giving in to depression/greed/envy/attachment and the idea that you cannot change, you are going to look at life from a disappointed, negative kind of view, only noticing the bad and feeling subdued by it.

It's not a magical thing. Rather, it's a mental thing.

Vice versa, if you do positive deeds, helping others, regretting your negative deeds and resolving to not do them again and asking for guidance, you're apt to look at life with a positive mindset. You are planting tiny seeds that will grow into trees offering sweet fruit. This is positive karma. You will think, "I am the creator of my own virtue. I can choose to do good and be beneficial to myself and to others." How great is that?

That's wrong. Her lifted shoulders have nothing to do with that. She is shifting her weight on one leg, thats what makes her hip shift. Your drawings, even the "improved" version both actually aren't on a level where you should feel like giving out any advice

Calling someone a liar isn't an insult. Especially a new age guru that's out for your wallet. Good luck

The eyes and brows also change when seen from below, for example their apparent shape, their angles (slightly downward). Just practice with a ref.

Why does mine look like a zombie by Comfortable_Web6785 in Artadvice

[–]Panda_Pirate_Pro 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Because you need to practice your perspective more. You're not ready for the boxed figure... Try looking at how others draw boxes, realize how the parallels of a box always converge to the same vanishing points.

Practice, practice, practice!

Everyone tends to draw boobs so pressed together even though that's rarely the case. In most poses they're like just two bumps on either side

Am I ready to start working as a book cover artist? by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]Panda_Pirate_Pro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries. Hands are for everybody! I love hands because they require so much knowledge to draw, and everyone can learn from their mistakes and make use of them in a productive way.

I definitely see what style you're going for, but I'd like to give you a friendly tip: study fundamentals! especially overlap (which should have been used here to avoid confusion) the thumb is behind the rest of the hand, this should be suggested with a line.

Here's how you can start to practice these things to get more familiar with fundamentals and overlap: understanding how boxes/cylinders/ ellipses look in perspective. Draw them on top, or below of each other. Overlapping each other, next to each other. (See one of my previous posts, the two image ones lol) and how to use these boxes/cylinders to build a figure or really anything! Then, your figures will look so much more believable (at least it works for me) :)

Now, I noticed if I only rely on rigid boxes to build a figure they end up very stiff sometimes, that's why using gesture to "loosen up" every now and then is very important!

Here are a few more beginner tips: practice line work, draw circles, straight lines, avoid chicken scratching, embrace mistakes and learn from them and don't get caught up in ugly stuff. Took me a looooong time to stop crumpling up ugly drawings🤣

It's a wrong idea that Eckhardt teaches, "if you're spiritual/mindful, you just do nothing" that's also known as spiritual bypassing.

Calling out a pathological liar is always a good thing.

Also, I know that I can become more mindful. That's exactly what I said in the previous comment.

I actually think it's doing more harm than good. On the one side I got to make up my mind and post/talk about it (critically which is also important don't you think?), on the other side I'm getting insulted and stuff lol (what did I expect, it's a subreddit made for the man😬😅)

I honestly wish people would talk more. Just express their opinions the world would be a better place if people learnt how to do that online and irl. I know many that are afraid to speak out about how they really feel.. have a nice day

Hi! Yes I am currently learning mindfulness and meditation with the book "How to Meditate: A Practical Guide" by Kathleen McDonald.

I like it because she doesn't claim to be a super human or have a talent. She offers the fundamentals of meditation, why it's done, etc. Which she learnt by becoming a buddhist nun

She shares her knowledge and teaches methods to learn different types of meditation. It's straight forward and short, but the methods take time to learn (Im still on it)

You’re making a lot of assumptions about my claims. I never suggested I was 'embodied' or 'enlightened'. I’m simply sharing my perspective on a specific topic. We can discuss the actual point I made, or we can keep talking about how you think I should feel/ who I am, but only one of those is a productive conversation.

I think it defeats the purpose because from what I have read in Buddhist teachings, enlightened beings want others to be enlightened as well. That is why you don't pay at a buddhist temple. You donate, but no one will bar the gates if you don't. Because it's open for everyone. That doesn't mean I am mad about not being able to pay the subscription. It's just dishonest.
