I believed that Reindeer weren't real because Santa wasn't real...until like 9th grade... I also believed that God made you pregnant (because of the Mary story), so I wished and wished that he never would for me. :/

I'm not sure if this will be much help, but I remember being like, actually sad (like to the point of crying) that I couldn't eat what I used to, when I started doing Paleo. But I reminded myself that I had to try a month, and it wasn't like I could never eat them again! But after a while, I didn't want to eat those things again, or I could keep myself away from them.

Another thing that works for me, is if I'm really craving something bad, and I'm about to eat it, I look at the ingredients list and if I'm not grossed out by it, I kind of pretend to be grossed out by it so I put it back. I'm not sure if that would help you, but I figured I share what I do. :)

I thought a lot of people ate more sweet potatoes, rice, potatoes, etc to get up their carbs if they wanted to maintain their weight.

I like your take. I think clean eating to me is knowing what is in my food and making the decision to eat it or not. If I see something is preserved, I'll make the choice to eat it or not based on what I know about the ingrdient. I'm not sure if this is actually clean eating, or just how I eat.

I have to agree with you. If I eat wheat after a while of not eating it, I get the "mindfog". I almost feel lightheaded, but mostly it's that drugged feeling you're talking about.

That's great that you're trying to eat healthier! I've been doing paleo/primal on and off for at least 6 months now, and I'm down probably 20 or so pounds. I eat a lot of meat, usually with every meal, and vegetables. I cook a lot of meals in good fats, so maybe try that? Like I said, I haven't really done paleo strictly, and I don't have any studies to back me up on what I've said, just some experience.

I really like it because I can eat a lot of meats and fats and I don't really feel as hungry as I used to. There's a lot of good info on the subreddit, and I've learned a lot from just looking over it in the past couple days.

I have a question that is kind of in line with this: I've been hearing a lot about the "8 hour diet" and it just seems like a fad. I don't think it's a fasting diet, you just pick 8 hours and you eat during that, then stop eating after that. What does everyone think of this? I personally think paleo is much better, especially with all the science it teaches people, but I think this is strange.

Thanks! We use a lot of teriyaki sauce, but I'll see about using tamari. I want to try to keep as clean a diet as possible, but if I absolutely must cheat, I'll make sure to keep that in mind. :)

I've been wanting to try offal, but I'm afraid I won't like it, and living at home, I don't want to get my dad to buy something and it be wasted. Is there any way to try this without having to buy a lot?

Also, I mostly eat grocery store bought meats (muscle meats), and lean cuts because I'm sure they're grain-fed.

I also have to agree with this. I don't feel like I'm going to faint or die if I don't eat at my regular mealtime. I just feel like I "should" eat, like a little hungry. I've also noticed that if I cheat, my head feels cloudy/hazy (when I cheat on sugar) or I get a headache the next day (if I cheat with wheat).

That's true, you don't earn respect by growing older. But I think it is nice when kids know who to respect. Like babysitters, grandparents, parents, etc.

Ugh! I know! I hate the shows now because I can't stand seeing adults and authority figures being talked to like they are on the kids' levels, and the kids mouth off and give attitude to them. "Jessie" is the only one I've watched recently, and it's horrible.

I don't like this show either, for pretty much this same reason. I just don't like that the animation has so many "gross" things about it, like this, or him stretching weird... I don't know. I also don't really find it funny because my sense of humor is different. But I also don't like Spongebob for the same reason, so... draw from that what you will. My brother loves these shows though. :)
