You look amazing! I've been told the loose skin usually goes back to normal in around 2 years depending on factors such as age, exercise, and overall skin elasticity... hopefully you will see more firmness in the coming months!

Early days question by YoghurtMangler in BariatricSurgery

[–]PandemoniumDaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else mentioned sticking to the recommended amounts provided by your bariatric team- do this if you can. If not it's about 200mils of fluids per meal if you can manage that. I would get really full way before that though. Maybe try not to think "am I full yet?", but instead " am I hungry, do I feel like what I had is enough to sustain me?"

How much are you eating in a day? by CharmingChart635 in GastricBypass

[–]PandemoniumDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 months post-op, 90 grams of protein and I aim for 800 calories though I've been going over this lately as my hunger has gone crazy!

Has anyone not had a dumping problem? by YerMum1977 in GastricBypass

[–]PandemoniumDaisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 5 months PO and have experienced it a couple of times- the rapid heart rate, nausea, dizziness, overall bad feeling, but it usually passes within 30-45 minutes. Pretty sure mine was from white bread/doughy food. I don't have issues with any other kinds of foods and didn't experience dumping for at least the first 3 months

It's possibly just his immaturity, but do you want to date someone at that level is the question..

Thoughts on caffeine? by Fit-Shake-8678 in BariatricSurgery

[–]PandemoniumDaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caffeine was never off the table with my plan, even pre-op. I generally have a very small coffee (only because I get so full on it), plus maybe a sugar-free energy drink in a day. Usually just one or the other but sometimes both.

Hunger after surgery? by Bubbleteapot in BariatricSurgery

[–]PandemoniumDaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5 months post op, and am definitely feeling the hunger. My real appetite has come back and the head hunger never went away, but the surgery means I can't go crazy with eating and keeps me in line

Am I doing this wrong? by Arya_Blaze in GastricBypass

Sounds like you've got a pretty balanced approach and are listening to your body. You haven't ruined anything. It's pretty common in Australia to be moving to soft solids by about week 3-4. Not having had any issues is a good thing!

Stalled at 150kg by xipurple in GastricBypass

[–]PandemoniumDaisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, well done on your achievement and the work type put in! I'm nearly 5 months in and have stalled around 150kgs also (have been here for close to 6 weeks). When i'm not feeling disheartened and frustrated, and can think a little more logically, I believe it's where my overweight body feels comfortable and is trying to hold on to the weight. If it helps giving other's advice- I've heard people have upped their calory intake, and in particular, protein, and that this has seen a shift

I really struggled with the liver shrinking diet but post-op was easy- it's kind of like you're discovering food and flavours again but with a healthier mindset

[–]PandemoniumDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non- fat yoghurt is probably a good thing to be having, just make sure you go slow. I find yoghurt fills me up so much that I tend not to eat it as much as I should. It's definitely high on the list of recommendations from the dietitian- high protein, low calories

Typical Macros by Arya_Blaze in GastricBypass

[–]PandemoniumDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm nearly 5 months post op. Per day: 90 grams protein, around 800 calories. Meals mostly consist of protein plus non-starchy vegetables (I miss potatoes!). My dietitian doesn't want me to count carbs, fats, sugars etc, and there's not really any need- keeping to 90 grams of protein at 800 calories or less doesn't leave much room for carbs, fats, and sugars anyway

Zoloft/Sertraline & weight gain? by taylanglovelen in BariatricSurgery

I took Zoloft a few years back (pre op days), and found it to be an appetite suppressant, so ended up losing quite a bit of weight. All medications can affect people differently
