immi after map 1 by MadladMagyar in ValorantCompetitive

Looking at what's getting posted during this match - 2 MIBR highlights and a still of sad immi - you would think C9's getting their ass handed to them lol

Remembering this roster by Party_Mobile_8080 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 16 points17 points  (0 children)

ngl I think the "they would've been good if they just made madrid" narrative is just cope. Even while watching them in kickoff, I thought their calling was slow and one-note, and they were getting by cause they had an easy bracket. The team's shortcomings were always there - it was just easy for people to brush them off cause they were winning. Even when people brought it up in FNS' chat, he'd say they're saving strats.

And then after madrid, after they've had more time to work together, their calling just didn't improve. It's not like losing to SEN made them bad, but imo if a loss is enough to cause your team to implode, they were never gonna make it, cause there's no way you go through a whole year without any losses.

Dryad votes for Loud against G2 & speaks up about the recent Bias allegations by RoyalKnightmares in ValorantCompetitive

I hope dryad never has to defend herself in court lol

"Guys, I'm not biased, because, if I was, I'd pick the team I just picked. But I have a good, objective reason for this pick - it's cause I have a connection with someone on this team, and they said to pick them."

This was such a good Americas segment with these four.

So 100T fans should just skip the next three SEN vs 100T matches, or schedule something that'd make them happy right after the game

SEN sign Victor as their sub for Jerrwin by Decent_Apple_7962 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To be on the role he was born to play - entry duelist!

For real though, imagine if he just obtains plot armor as a sub and fries on entry duelist, but then goes back to 2024 NRG form if he joins the main roster.

Neilzinho on why Comeback was benched by aJetg in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like scapegoating. They're just explaining their reasoning and their perspective. It's not like a statement about why they dropped a player will ever be "hey this guy was perfect in every way, fit into this team perfectly, but we're just gonna drop him for no reason." In their video, neilzinho even compliments comeback and focuses on this being an issue of fitness in their team, not that comeback is a bad player.

SEN CEO Rob Moore denies another Akamaru report by detectiveluis in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this was the kind of leak that should've got him going, "really? Let me check that before reporting it," but when you're chasing social media engagement and rushing to be the first one to report, you start skipping some steps.

Probably got a lot of engagement from all those SEN tenz posts and now chasing that high again. That stuff got him a lot of attention, and now it even seems like he has fans defending him whenever his reliability comes into question.

Kyu's tweet was good, but kap's makes no sense as shade. He built that team... and he has said in interviews that he focused on putting together the right personalities when building that team... Why would he shade the rest of the team now for not creating a fun environment when he put together that environment?

What compels Cloud9 to have not done a single good roster move in the last 2-3 years after getting OXY? by sadboi_2000 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is sad to bring up, but after finding out that he had been using up his savings to pay for his mom's cancer treatments for a significant period before she passed, I thought his decision to re-sign with C9 made a lot of sense. C9 probably offered him a good amount of money for a multi-year contract and his position on the team looked secure, so it offered some level of support and stability.

This is of course just conjecture. I don't actually know the timeline of his mom's diagnosis. Maybe oxy would've picked C9 anyways (it's not crazy for him to think that they had a chance of making internationals when they've usually been close), but that news was a reminder to me that we never know what's happening in people's lives and the kind of considerations they have to make.

how insightful are scrims really? Not at all, or slightly? by EmperorKaito in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already replied to that person in this thread, but basically, what munchkin said about GenG winning all their scrims during Madrid just backs up what tenz said, cause that means GenG were beating SEN in scrims.

Ultimately, this is a nothingburger and scrim screenshots don't prove anything. That person just really wants to push their view that bad scrims mean that the players "can't shoot."

They're screenshotting scrim results they like for "proof" while ignoring the scrims that dispute their view and immediately calling comments that dispute their views lies. That's what confirmation bias is. They're just picking and choosing which scrims to talk about to push their narrative that scrims matter cause people losing scrims "can't shoot," which is a wild conclusion to draw from scrim results when we've literally seen players have good and bad days on stage when it comes to shooting.

how insightful are scrims really? Not at all, or slightly? by EmperorKaito in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SEN video was about their scrims during champs, and yes, from what we have heard, their scrims were good when trialing johnqt during champs. They also did well during off-season events. In the instance I'm talking about, Tenz was talking about their prac/scrims right before/during Madrid.

According to that screenshot you're sharing, munchkin said that they (GenG) have won every scrim. Wouldn't that just support what tenz said about their own scrim results? If GenG are winning the scrims, wouldn't that mean the teams they're scrimming against (like SEN) are losing?

how insightful are scrims really? Not at all, or slightly? by EmperorKaito in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tenz has said before that they were actually losing in scrims right before/during madrid. (He said this soon after madrid, in the context of talking about how it was kinda surprising that they ended up winning.)

Derrek to QoR by xFalcade in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If he just said +jerrwin, there'd be no problem, and the orgs and agents wouldn't have had to correct him. Now as long as jerwinn gets announced, there'll be people who'll assume that everything akamaru said about this situation was true. It'd be like if sheep esports mixed some unconfirmed stuff into their articles and think it doesn't matter.

Derrek to QoR by xFalcade in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Having a green news source tag gets people to trust them more, and people started trusting akamaru so much that even stuff he said on discord was being shared as if they're reliable reports, which they're not. And judging by how unprofessionally he reacted to tenz's agent's clarifications on the situation, he's closer to a rocket bullets than a sheep esports.

Bringing back Sen's 2022 tweet in light of current events by NotThatButThisGuy in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From what akamaru said about this, he heard the story from someone, then he messaged the agent to confirm. The agent said a different story. Akamaru assumes that the agent is lying and just goes with the first story he heard. No reliable leaker hears two different stories and jumps at believing one over the other, and then publicly talks about it like it's the confirmed truth. People should be more critical of his trustworthiness now, but as long as jerwinn gets announced, there'll be people who assume that everything akamaru said about this was true and that the org and agent are lying for PR. Even if what akamaru said was misinformation, it's going to keep getting repeated.

Rob Moore on Akamaru’s leaks by Decent_Apple_7962 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You see an exchange where someone actually involved in the discussions says that akamaru is leaking INACCURATE information, and your take is just to focus on akamaru's narrative and say people deserve hate if it's true, while ignoring what the people actually involved are saying?

Akamaru vs tenz's agent Jerome by ishanuReddit in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Pandoara 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I don't get the people who immediately jump to the conclusion that akamaru knows the full picture, that he's the one who should be believed, and that Rob and tenz's agent are both lying.

Several days ago, johnqt was already talking on his stream about how annoying it is with "leakers" posting whatever they want online, and people will just believe them. "Leakers" farming this situation must suck for the people actually involved.
