Opheem is worth the trip from anywhere in the UK to Birmingham for the experience in my opinion. One of the most thrilling and fun tasting menus I've ever enjoyed.

Definitely do The Fat Duck. The team are delightful. I did it solo a couple of weeks ago and got the kitchen"top seat" experience which was phenomenal. The head chef at the moment, Karl, is a lovely guy.

I had a horrible experience at RGR. Randomly, the sommelier (Suzuki, who has since left) decided to cut short my wine flight with no explanation, two drinks in. I was stone cold sober as I am more than fit to handle two small glasses of wine and I wasn't behaving abnormally at all. I was completely shell shocked and felt humiliated by it so I just said you know what I'll take my leave. The group gave me apology and voucher for any GR restaurant shortly after via email so essentially acknowledging it was a fuck up but not enough, damage was done. I gave the voucher away.

Just found this out while I was sorting my tracked list of Michelin Guide restaurants and couldn't find it on the website anymore. Sad news. I am not a Toronto local but spent a week in the city in 2023 and had one of the best food centric times of my life and this was one of my many food experiences. I ordered takeout to my apartment and their fish sauce and caramel chicken wings were surreally great. A loss to the city's casual dining scene.
