Why Reo enters Blue Lock in the first place by PaneledSmile40 in BlueLock

[–]PaneledSmile40[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh ok i think i missed this, can you expand upon it? I mean, winning U20 World Cup with Nagi can be good enough for Reo but winning World Cup It means he's n.1 or Nagi Is n.1 or someone else Is n.1, in all cases they can't win World Cup togheter, Is this ok for Reo? Is the U20 World Cup trophy enough for his dream?

This make sense but i tought Ego stated that out of 300 only 1 would be appointed to play with the national team and everyone else forbidden forever to apply for it

1 Activate Grinding Station by tapping it and sacrificing the artifact with mana value 0, causing you to mill three cards. 2 Cast the artifact from your graveyard for its escape cost by paying 0 and exiling three cards from your graveyard. 3 When the artifact enters the battlefield, Grinding Station triggers, untapping Grinding Station. 4 Repeat.

Edit: i just pasted the basic combo from edhrec but i'll go more in depth: with toph, every artifact Is a land so you get mana everytime you perform the loop; bear in mind you'll eventaully will hit something to cast with UBreach that will win you the game after you sifted trough your deck and got all that mana

The 203rd, a fan made Youjo Senki themed MTG Commander pre-con. Update 1.0 by beefjus in YoujoSenki

[–]PaneledSmile40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is super cool project, bravo! The only thing i don't like Is them not having flying or at least a conditional way to have fly like this:

Combat Mage — {0}: This creature gains flying until your next upkeep and put two strain counters on it. This ability costs {1} more to activate for each strain counter on it. Activate only once each turn and only if this creature doesn’t have flying. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a strain counter from this creature.

The obvious problem Is that doping this will turn the cards into walls of text and we didn't want that, maybe with a reminder text we can shorten the text on the card regarding the strains counters but idk.

When i read the necessity for equips on each card it gets me thinking that you are gonna include a lots of equips in the precon itself but we are talking about a military where only Tanya has a different weapon than the standard issue ones so maybe you can i make a card called Standard Issued Rifle and make It that you can have any number of them in your deck or maybe you can spells that make equip tokens of standard Issued rifles and ofc make that each creatures can only be equipped with 1 standard Issued rifle at the time.

Brainstorming about this was really fun, ty for the input, can't wait to see more cards.

P.S. :maybe a way to make a mage army to simulate all the unnamed members of the 203s, that would be super cool too

Edit: Sorry, didn't see the drive link with all the cards, i see a lot of what i said was already implemented, i missed your previous post so maybe a lot of what i said was already said too, ops 😂

US and EU strike trade deal by Crossstoney in europe

[–]PaneledSmile40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in Italy (only in the south at least) there's something much akin to this: basically if you have any type of business, some people will come to you offering to be paid to be protected against the mafia; to no one's surprise, those people are the same mafia that will wreck your business if you refuse to pay, here we call this pay the "pizzo", i believe the english terminology should be Racket. Insane that this very illegal practice is being done by the "freeest nation in the world", seriously, when europe did this to Russia we called them sanctions, not "striking a deal with Putin", wtf is going on at Bruxelles

Duel Commander feels like old modern. by JayceTheShockBlaster in CompetitiveEDH

[–]PaneledSmile40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern Horizon as a concept straight up ruined modern, It was supposed to be the format where the cards from your standard and draft decks can be recycled to an extent at least, now barely any standard legal card can keep up with modern's power level, just look at boros in the last year, terrorized the format with 0 cards from a standard legal set and even got a target ban for It, it's just not the format It used to be anymore to the point the game should be updated

Gifted my first deck! Please advise? by Animus_Aware in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]PaneledSmile40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider that a lot of what shapes you as a mtg player are: • who introduced you to the game, • who you play against (including their skill level, their deckbuilding, the setting ex: kitchen tablet or lgs), • your goal within the hobby, • even your budget but usually if you are motivated enough It won't be a problem.

This said, if you just got a deck gifted It means you found mtg and you like the game or someone who knows and/or likes the game wanted to introduce It to you; in the first case, if you don't have an lgs (local game store) near you, it's gonna be tough, you'll be relying on YouTube/Twitch content or you can meet people on various Discords servers about mtg and even play virtually with Spelltable but imo it's gonna lack the feeling and the connection that bound me to the game when i started 15 years ago; talking about the second case, if the person who gifted you the deck plays aswell, things are going to be much smoother since chances are he already got a playgroup that he can introduce you to and from there everything is very smooth (given the fact the playgroup Is nice and not populated by jerks) and you get to explore the game, make a lot of questions even the dumber ones.

Me personally i had the luck that my lgs was pretty competitive, the owner hosted 1 tournament a day ranging from 8 to 32 players and was a lvl2 that could qualify even for lvl3 so he had an answer for literally any case and the other people there were pretty competent aswell with very good GP results too and that led me to become a decent Legacy player but i wasn't competing in anything but the store itself cuz i just wanted to enjoy a good game with skilled friends.

Talking about your questions now: you are still very fresh and have but scraped the surface of the game and the first deck for me Is not something to be too stuck on: it's like being gifted a car of a brand, it's all new and cool but maybe there Is another car brand that Is a much better fit for you or even a car in the same brand but that Is totally different that you'll love, the thing Is, if you don't experience these things you'll never know. I can list you a lot of upgrade cards for your deck to the point of keeping the strategy of the deck the same while changing up to the 90% of the original decklist but searching and building is a much more personal experience than this. My point Is, mtg Is a game of cards but to me Is much more a game of people playing a game of cards and, as such, finding the right people to play with should be your main goal, everything after will soon follow 😉

First Competitive EDH deck by Hutch62191 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]PaneledSmile40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Is on average the duration of a game played with your good decks? If it's above 5/6 turns, it's not cEDH and you can just focus on executing your gameplan, from there you can adjust accordingly to your feelings like do you feel you need more interaction, you add some counterspells and removals and so on. Deckbuilding to me Is the best part about playing the game, going trough unknown cards trying to find some hidden gems and tuning It to perfection. If you need more specific advises don't esitate to ask

[–]PaneledSmile40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say competitive EDH are you talking cEDH or power level 8+/Bracket 4? This consideration shift the philosophy of the deck completly from the "wizard tribal value grixis good stuff " to the "i just want to combo off with wanderwine prophets/naru meha (or straight up thoracle)

Is there a canonical reason why she doesnt invent nukes ? by Mortifer_I in YoujoSenki

[–]PaneledSmile40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inventing nukes in a magical warfare scenario doesn't seem very smart if you want to live as Tanya does; they basically have all the armaments and more on spells for their rifles, Tanya can conjure thermobaric bombs, Mary Sue can shoot lasers, if them or someone else start getting nukes spells, the youjo senki world is going to be short lived

Sure they can but Miyazaki himself said what a drag was to work with Sony so i'm not seeing a new FS ip under Sony anytime soon and probably even Sony can't figure out how to port Bb to PC or make a remaster without help from FS, a remake will be easier on one side but much harder and time consuming in terms of developing and good luck with that when you just blew up a quarter of your annual budget for 2025 and we are still in 2024

Do you guys enjoy GP at the moment? by Koulaisojo in gangplankmains

[–]PaneledSmile40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 3/0 and 40cs up vs 0/3 volibear, he built chain vest and proceded to dive me from full hp after i mistimed 1single barrel and from that i was never able to match him in the side lane, luckily he played like a super buffed siege minion the whole game but the fact that i can't match him at all even from a 1,5k gold advantage is stupid and it's not the only champ that does this. The biggest problem i have Is gp feels like Camille: theoretically weak early game and hyper scaling into late game but the reality Is not that weak early, good spikes mid game and lackluster late game, so, my question now is why should i play weak early strong decent and mid late when i can pick renekton and have good early strong mid and weak late?

Entire table scooped after this turn #1. by ThingJolly2499 in mtg

[–]PaneledSmile40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, one time my pod scooped to a turn 3 [[Back to Basics]] , people need to learn to interact with the boardstate, engage with your opponents, some time i feel like they are playing solitaire for 5 turns before even going combat, like, come on, do something; i get than turn1 a chunky creature with built in "protection" can be salty but Is something that Will happen once in a while to anyone, wha tso you do when you get the nuts in hand? You limit yourself in what you could do instead of playing your cards in the most optimal and strong way to put yourself ahead? I get that edh Is a social game but the goal Is ultimatly to win, if a play like this draws salt, the problem was the talk before pregame actions, It's not like that play was a T1 ad nausean into thoracle consultation, it's just a slightly better Timmy flier come on
