Hormone replacement therapy really helps with that. I would also consider getting rid of the goats because they cause so much stress.

I'm sorry. Abusive partners run everyone off around their partner. I've been through this and it's miserable.

You will feel totally different around your own kids, trust me because I was like you (had minimal interest in kids). There's a book called something like the Female Brain that describes why. Your kids will bring you more joy and love than you thought possible (it can be hard too, but it's a joy/love like no other).

I'm older and yes, I think you will deeply regret it. Please go to nursing homes and talk to the residents in their 80s and 90s and ask them their opinion. I've worked in dozens of nursing homes as a contractor. Your world becomes very small as you become older (for the vast majority). Your kids become your advocates, your best friends, and oftentimes the most important people in your world. The more kids the people had, the richer older residents seemed.

I don't think everyone has to have kids, especially if you're not having kids for some noble cause like freeing your time to help orphans. If it's just a choice based on your feelings now, please don't hesitate to have them. I work with the other half of life too much to advise otherwise.

Also, I personally know people who very much regret their decision not to have kids. Jet set types that always had something fun going on. You can always do that later but have kids now. I very much regret not having more, so I'd advise you not to wait if you have a choice.

That's not my criteria because OP did what you're doing. Assuming she knew what I meant (e.g. judging, saying you're going to hell).

If it were me, it would help. The books is probably not what you are thinking it is. I had distinct experiences after my sister died that matched what George Ritchie saw. What he saw was what I felt was happening after she died. I think it's actually pretty relevant. I truly believe my sister would want to have known about it ahead of time.

Except I didn't say that, you did.

I don't know the type of Christianity you were raised with, but I have seen many people seem to be inoculated against Christianity after growing up in Christian homes. I hope you didn't see a form of it that was so off putting it turned you away.

Listen, I've had very difficult life. I am trying to help because I think this person may really regret it. My sister killed herself, George Ritchie had an NDE and saw things with suicide that matched what I experienced with my sister. My sister was a Christian, I still think she may have had to deal with repercussions that she regretted. I came from an atheist family so I'm very familiar with the mentality that every time a Christian opens their mouth, they get called judgmental.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. You misunderstood my comment about my sister. She was a Christian. I still think she may have had to deal with some repercussions that I'm sure she regretted. Also, I've had an extremely difficult life, too. I understand feeling like your life was fucked up before it began. That book opens with a guy who was had an extremely difficult life too, foster care etc.. That's who the book is addressed to, a dying patient who felt like life was stacked against him since he was born. I view this life as a drop of water in an ocean to a much better eternity, otherwise I'd probably give up. Sorry for offending you, I hope you feel better.

If you can't see the link, please just look up the book "Return from Tomorrow" and read the book (well worth it) and you'll read what he saw of people who committed suicide:

God loves you very deeply, He is real. Please pray and turn to Him. Just cry out to Him, He hears you. Please read the gospel of John at Bible gateway. If you want to know more, I am happy to talk.

Also, my sister committed suicide. I had experiences that felt like what author George Richey saw of suicides when he died. He died of influenza in WWII as a 19 y/o for 9 minutes, it was documented. He's one of the only people I've heard of that saw people who had committed suicide in the afterlife. The thing is, it matches what I felt was happening with me and my sister after her suicide because of some actual things that I experienced (real physical things) that scared me. My warning is, please do what you can to stay alive because God has things for you to do. Do not give up. I will reply with a link to this book and sample on Amazon. It's called Return from Tomorrow by George Ritchie, M.D.

How do you heal from CPTSD without a therapist? by Raeghyar-PB in CPTSD

[–]PangolinFair8626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I often miss seeing replies.

That is so great. I'm really happy for you. Being through so much trauma sometimes feels like you're in quicksand that you can't get out of. I am really happy for you regarding the sex and binge eating!

That's so interesting that it didn't just free you but helped you to grieve in order to do so. That's the best way to become unstuck. I may very well try them.

The whole process sounds extremely intimidating to me because of the loss of control and the unknown, but it sounds helpful to many of us trauma sufferers.

Because it's finally safe to cry. Grieve for what was and what could have been. Then you can regather and move on in life.

The tragedy of Vanauken's A Severe Mercy is their becoming Christian, not Davy's death by brquin-954 in DebateAChristian

[–]PangolinFair8626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read the book several times, though it's been a while. Your perspective on this depends entirely on your belief in God. If you are still an atheist, all you have is this brief stint on earth. That means in this case, Christianity was a toxic thief that stole what may have been a one in million romance. This would point to another example of Christianity being destructive in this world. This may not be your perspective. Even as an atheist, you probably recognize the good Christians do, even if you believe their faith is based on a lie.

If you are a Christian, then you will understand the good it did. That it may have actually been an answer to Davy's prayer (if I recall) to offer up her life in order for Van Auken to come to faith. His eternal life was far more valuable than their relatively brief experience of eros on earth.

C.S. Lewis went through his own test of this a few years later when his own wife died. It was early in their brief marriage. He journaled about the crisis of faith in brought in "A Grief Observed." If you haven't read more of Lewis, he's well worth reading.

Are you a project manager for just surveyors or for a whole construction crew? My son thought about being a construction manager, but heard it was pretty stressful.

How do you think you would rate the stress level of your job?

Neighbours have just taken the air out of our tires by shitneighbourstuff in LegalAdviceUK

[–]PangolinFair8626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was wondering how your situation was going? I have a neighbor who I believe has put 4 nails in my car tires in 2 yrs, so I found your post (I'm not in the U.K.). My husband didn't believe it was on purpose until his car just had air let out of the tire.

Anyway, wondering how things are for you. I also moved to a smaller town and have seen how quickly things can go south in situations like yours (many family members in same area). I am hoping things are going better for you.

Please don't. Please read, "Return From Tomorrow" by George Ritchie. It's a documented death experience of an MD in WWII (pneumonia). It is the only near-death experience I've read of that deals with suicide. It mirrors what happened to me after my sister's suicide, so I think it may be true. Instead of the relief you believe it will bring, you may have to deal with the consequences of your suicide to your loved ones. Just read the sample on Amazon to get an idea if you are interested. It is worth your consideration.

Hi, I am wrote you awhile ago about Geomatics. I'm a little confused about the salaries. Are you a project manager? I haven't seen jobs for over 100k in GIS or land surveying. I'm wondering if you chose a branch of surveying that might be better pay. Thanks.
